Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

What’s worse than the way they spoke about the surrogate, is the fact the baby they effectively bought, is a girl.

What every woman needs just before giving birth, tiny cuts and tears in her skin. Did these men do no studying on pregnancy before or during this arrangement?

MsRosley · 24/10/2023 12:24

My jaw actually dropped. Awful misogyny.

IcakethereforeIam · 24/10/2023 12:24

They're standing there like they're.....watching a sandwich being made or something. There's no empathy for the woman in labour. I think if the camera wasn't there they'd be on their phones.

Actually, I bet phones were banned, otherwise I bet they'd have taken pictures. Sorry, more pictures.

They got their daughter expelled!?

Which is the one with the lip filler?

AnneWhittle · 24/10/2023 12:50

well I really hope she succesfully sues them into bankruptcy

ButDaddyILoveHim · 24/10/2023 13:00

Repulsive, repulsive, repulsive. Vile misogyny written all over their faces.

I hope she takes them to the cleaners.

And I hope that poor child has people around her who truly love and value her, and a great therapist when she's older.

beastlyslumber · 24/10/2023 13:05

I gasped when he said that she should have been waxed.

Repulsive misogyny.

Unwisebutnotillegal · 24/10/2023 13:32

I know two women who’ve acted as surrogates for gay men and been treated disgustingly. One was ignored after she had a painful miscarriage which had complications and another who had discussed the birth plan with them only to have her wishes ignored when she was unable to advocate for herself. They are both physically and psychologically damaged by the experience.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 24/10/2023 15:11

That poor little girl being raised by men with those attitudes towards women.
Vile.

plumtreebroke · 24/10/2023 15:42

She was born in 2016, the surrogate sued and settled in 2018, why all the fuss now? I thought they both looked slightly horrified and embarrassed watching a woman give birth. One of them Jeff Lewis I think was the biological father so not just a financial transaction.

lifeturnsonadime · 24/10/2023 11:52

I challenge ANY pro surrogacy advocate to argue that this is appropriate.

And if they concede this isn't, then THIS is the risk you advocate to the mother and the baby born of surrogacy.

I am enraged that anyone thinks this is acceptable.

I am not anti surrogacy. I am anti fuckin horrific people which these two appear to be. You can separate the two

Right so how can you stop fucking horrific people from buying babies?

What measures can you put in to surrogacy arrangements to protect the mother and child from fucking horrific people buying a baby as a commodity?

fedupandstuck · 24/10/2023 18:42

Well, the problem is that you can't. Either surrogacy is fine for anyone who can afford it, or it isn't. In your support for surrogacy, how would you protect women from being taken advantage of and abused by those seeking to use them? What's your plan for that?

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 24/10/2023 18:47

"Right so how can you stop fucking horrific people from buying babies?"

Make buying babies unambiguously wrong again.

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 24/10/2023 18:48

They filmed her room behind a curtain - so knew she didn’t want to be filmed and did so anyway.

American birthing positions are also weird, why are their feet always up in the air?

That was my point.

No baby should be bought or transacted.

I'm against all surrogacy.

Absolutely vile and not fit to be the father of daughters. However The way they look at the miracle of birth with utter disgust, I'm sure I would look a bit disgusted tbh seeing the actual vaginal delivery, not because I'm misogynistic but because most medical things make me feel sick. I really think it's a normal reaction, not many people would desire to just watch a vaginal delivery "because it's beautiful" or something.

More reason why the mother's birth experience should not have been filmed and televised, especially without her consent. Yes, medical things involve lots of blood, mucus, and body parts that aren't dressed up for social events. For that very reason, giving birth is private, and no woman should be subject to having her privacy violated for the entertainment of others as if she were a cow or a goat.

OhamIreally · 25/10/2023 06:26

If she settled in 2018 how is this video still online for people to see?

Surely the minimum she sued for was for this to be taken down?

Utterly dreadful.

Ofcourseshecan · 27/10/2023 11:31

But the worst of this, by far, is that the two men presumably still own the little girl. How did this, the right to purchase human beings, ever become legal?

Froodwithatowel · 29/10/2023 09:36

Because of a lot of very stupid people going awwww bless, it's equaliteeeeee innit. And a fuckton of them being politicians.
