Didn't know the Deputy Prime Minister of Belgium was a marginalised and vulnerable transwoman. Green Party of course. Telegraph article, archive link.

Very glad they are now no longer a gynaecologist. That line gave me the ick.

I mean…… you can be gender critical but saying a qualified doctor “gives you the ick” because of their gender and you’re glad they don’t work is a bit much, no?

so many people are trying to show how being gender critical isn’t the same as transphobia, this comment doesn’t help the cause

🤔 wonder if Rishi is being hounded out of his job and receiving death/ rape threats as a result of his comments? Other people have done the ground work and paid a huge price then cowards come along to claim victory. Always the way.

I just wanted to put 'a GP' and see if MN would notice 😁

And also, if an, I presume, extremely qualified man who thinks of himself as a woman, who could have gone into any branch of medicine but choses to go into the area that deals with intimate female anatomy? That he then tried to have replicated on himself. It does make me feel a little queasy. Not because of his gender but because of the specific circumstances.

I'm sure he was an excellent doctor. I bet there are many women whose lives were changed for the better by his treatment. I wish de Sutter well. But, yeah.

And another thing..

I Didn't say i was glad he didn't work, I said I was glad he was no longer doing that particular job. It not as if he's penniless on the street corner now is it.

Any other field of medicine not a problem, if I've got a raging ear infection, if my left little toe is falling off, if I've just broken my arm rollerblading, It's not an issue, he can present how he likes, and I have no problem with him treating me.

It's specifically the gynacologist bit that gives me the ick.

he spent his medical working life in a field that 100% understands the difference in sexes. To do that and then go on "I'm a woman". How dare he! He of all people should know that that is bloody impossible.

So yes it gives me the Fucking ick!

you can't replicate female genitalia. he just had a superficially similarly look. he doesn't have female genitalia because he's not female.

Absolutely, @Boiledbeetle

YouJustDoYou · 08/10/2023 09:48

I love the Candace Owens clip where a multi-hued haired woman stands up to ask a question, and Candace in a tone that just screams sarcasm (because she can just TELL this is a trans-ally by the hair colour), "hello", and the woman asks, "what do you have to say to all the trans students on this campus who actively feel victimised by your presence here today?" and Candace replies wryly, "Life's tough, get a helmet man. I'm too pregnant for this today. Next question", and everyone in the audience claps, whistles and CHEERS. Ah, I love that clip.

FrancescaContini · 08/10/2023 10:05

I like that: “Life’s tough, get a helmet, man (or woman)” 😊

IcakethereforeIam · 08/10/2023 11:09

@literalviolence completely agree, which us why I put 'tried'. And a gynaecologist who must be absolutely aware of the inadequacies of his...?imitation.

Also, it's a bit rich coming from someone who, at the very least, is on the same side of the tras to call anyone a 'bully". The hypocrisy is breathtaking.
