dGT did a good job of making them look wise. They didn't need to do anything, and most times when they tried to speak, dGT shouted them down so he could continue rambling on noisily about hair removal or urinals or whatever the fuck he was talking about.

That's my experience of watching it too. Give it a go, honestly, if you're in the mood it's hilarious how foolish NdGT looks in explaining his understanding of gender.

I honestly couldn't bear to watch it. He's been great in a bunch of things and I like him. I can't watch him being so wrong, I'd rather not.

I blame all that caffeine that scientists drink all day...coffee, Coca Cola, kool aid.

Yes, the reason they just looked on was because he wouldn't let them interrupt his tedious 10-minute monologues when he was showing how little he understood.

He is SUCH an arsehole! Zero self awareness, bucket loads of arrogance, adores the sound of his own voice. It's really quite something

I've realised what he reminds me of...
In every single modern workplace there is someone high up who responds to every issue with "the new IT system will fix that". Even when the issue is 100% a human issue and the new ict system is full of bugs. Every workplace, every time. His technological utopianism is genuinely very triggering to me.
(And I'm not a luddite. But technology very rarely fixes human problems)

A lot of these people aren't scientists though. They are media presenters with scientific degrees, essentially. They aren't like Stephen Hawing who had a real scientific career and later went more into public education as an older man

There is a reason guys like NDT decide they want to influence the public rather than doing science. I don't think we can assume they are actually typical of working scientists.

I assume Tyson can do math. But on every topic I hear him talk about in terms of society, the humanities, or political policy, even things like health policy, he is very clearly not capable of higher order thinking. He doesn't even understand the questions.

I've heard from more sciency people than me that in terms of off the cuff answers on physics questions, he's actually not great either.

He made a fool of himself. He's decided TWAW and just assumed that anything that he said would be profound and would 'educate'.

Probably just saying exactly what he needs to to keep working in the media.

KK and FF seem to do a great job of staying polite and pretty dead-pan throughout (haven't watched every second), but FF's eyebrow's give him away when NDT says this!

Well, isn’t that fascinating. When you start to look at prejudice against women, it’s amazing how much men give themselves away.

I didn't understand his point about the people on the subway. Was he saying that had the women not grown their hair, or the men not worn mens clothes, then he wouldn't have been able to tell the men from the women?

And at the bit when he asked the presenters whether they had any other examples of places women want to keep to themselves, shame they only came up with shortlists instead of reeling off prisons, shelters, group therapy for vawg survivors, lesbian spaces and dating apps, hospital wards, intimate care requests.

Also, while his sports 'solution' could feasibly work for individual sports like his wrestling example, it's nonsense for team sports.

I do wish they had pushed back on his nonsense about how the toilet issue is 'EASILY SOLVEABLE' with individual cubicles. Not for Muslim women or Orthodox Jewish women or any woman who just cannot be in a space where she might encounter male bodies while partially undressing
