A 'neo vagina' is just an open wound which the body desperately tries to close and heal.

No wonder they choose to keep their penises

My friend advocated on behalf of a mentally ill in-patient who would punish herself by cutting off her own fingers and toes.

Just putting down a thought that came into my head.

They have also mixed up biological males and biological females having different surgeries. The article says those 21 people had vaginoplasties, mastectomies or other surgeries.

I think that makes the stats meaningless

Why? Do some surgeries have worse outcomes and complications than others? Which ones are worse? Do you know?

Xoxoxoxoxoxox · 24/07/2023 08:12

It adds further weight to the fact that puberty blockers should be banned as they inevitably lead to surgery for boys, as they have a micro penis when they reach 16 through having no puberty at which point they are further mutilated by these surgeries.

Whatwouldscullydo · 24/07/2023 08:28

And to think that we are the " bad guys"

These surgeries should not be a thing. Taking healthy bodies and creating disabilities is just unethical. The surgeries are not emergencies or life saving. The fact that anyone is allowed to do this to themselves proves that it ball about the money as far as the medical/pharmaceutical world goes. I think I saw the "dilation schedule" once amd wondered how it was remotely compatible with life. How do you work or go out or travel to go on holiday and fit it all in?

Any surgery is a risk. Even the routine ones. Why have we gotten to a place where we think things are so amazing medically speaking we forget the basics that anaesthetic can be dangerous. Complications can arise from the most routine of procedures. Im sure the success rate of an appendectomy is pretty high however no one would put themselves or their kid through it unless they actually needed one. Yet people do this by choice ?

For those of strong stomach, I recommend the SRS/GRS thread on KF. Seeing photos of the results of these surgeries really brought home to me how utterly barbaric and cruel they are.

Many (most?) of the people having them seem catastrophically naive about both the physical toll of such brutal and extreme surgery, and the limits of what they can achieve. I can't even imagine having any level of body dysphoria and having one of these procedures expecting to feel better about my body, then dealing with the after effects as well as the realisation that I'm still unhappy with my self but now have a host of ongoing physical problems as well. They should be illegal.

Lemieux7 · 24/07/2023 22:00

This person talks about all the problems they had no idea about when transitioning and having surgery. And the pain they are left with.

SequentialAnalyst · 24/07/2023 22:04

Too many people thinking it's just like changing your avatar in an on-line game.

Correct.. totally correct. Anything else is mental illness and should be treated as such.

So true. I hate it when people pretend otherwise. Call it a neovagina if you want but don't insult my vagina by pretending it's just an orifice to stick a cock in.

Too many people thinking it's just like changing your avatar in an on-line game.

Sadly, I think this is true.
