Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

All I can think when reading that pile of dog erm not whistle what's the word I'm looking for...oh yeah shit! dog shit! Is the old saying about programming computers

GARBAGE IN GARBAGE OUT

Why don’t they just get on with saving the planet from extinction?

That's hard, pronoun edicts are easy

Depressingly, you need some grasp of logic and a lot of science to even begin helping the planet. And you need to at least care about what words mean. The Greens constantly prove that they are the anti-science, pro-bullshit party that can't get anything done.

TheGreatATuin · 23/06/2023 07:13

I have a ready response to the far too frequent. 'Asking What is a woman is a transphobic dogwhistle' argument since I've heard it trotted out far too often.
Discussing the nature of what it is to be a woman and what it is to live as a woman in a patriarchal society has been the mainstay of feminist discourse for centuries. Every single feminist writer has discussed this, right from Mary Wollestonecraft.
But now, a movement focusing on the rights of biologically male people is telling women it's not appropriate to ask that question?
That women who discuss the nature of womenhood are subject to suspicion?
How does that not raise any red flags? Because for me, all I hear is clanging alarm bells.

I couldn't get to the end but I feel more sympathy for my lesbian sisters than ever before after reading this bit:

How to disarm: The fact that the vast majority of lesbians actually don't feel threatened, on the contrary are supportive of, trans women should be noted. The idea that potentially penetrative sex for a queer person with a vagina invalidates their sexuality is an incredibly reductive view and also seeks to invalidate bi people as well as lesbians who have sex with people with penises. As well, the notion of 'protecting lesbians' from often straight individuals is infantilising.

So corrective rape is fine, now then?

What in the hell are they doing?
This is really upsetting.

I didn’t Get that far because they fell on their faces with «gender assigned at birth» which is such a crock of shit.

But that homophobic, coercive, rape-enabling crap you just highlighted takes the whole packet of biscuits.

Very rage-inducing.

Read as much as I could.

Nauseating stuff. Doing a testosterone test on female athletes is racist?

Males are punished for not being cis-het?

I don't know what reality they live in. I thought the greens were about the environment, not uncritically enforcing doctrines.

Reminds me of a Tracy Ullman sketch on a woke support group.

ScrollingLeaves · 23/06/2023 08:46

The Green Party must be like sticky fly paper attracting the most ideologically driven thoughtless transactivists.

Rightsraptor · 23/06/2023 09:09

To be fair, @ScrollingLeaves, this rubbish has come from the LGBTQblahblah group within the GP, who always spout the usual garbage. The thing is to relieve them of any influence over the rest of the party. Not always easy.

Was that back when Woke was Right-on, or Peecee Gorn Mad?

Remember all those skits where billions of monkeys with typewriters would clang away and after billions of years, you might get the collected works of William Shakespeare or War And Peace.

Well, this crap was churned out by those monkeys before lunch on the first day.

WeeBisom · 23/06/2023 11:01

Their “how to disarm” advice is really funny because it’s just stock phrases with no real thought behind them. It’s like the cargo cult equivalent of debate: if we say enough words maybe something will stick! The problem is that gender critical feminists have actually thought about this stuff a lot, and read a lot , so they won’t be stumped by pre-formed answers gleaned from Twitter. The “sex isn’t a binary” reply is a total non sequitur to the argument that sex matters more than gender in law. The reply that “men aren’t abusing self id to victimise women” is demonstratively false.

TheBiologyStupid · 23/06/2023 12:44

If the LGBTIQA Greens can hear these dogwhistles themselves, what does that mean?!

TheBiologyStupid · 23/06/2023 12:56

It ends not with a bang, but with a whistle

😂

What it means: 'Trans Agenda' is the attempt to suggest that transitioning (especially medically transitioning), trans awareness and trans equality are all being pushed by ominous figures in the 'Establishment'. The 'Establishment' here includes 'big pharma (major multinational pharmaceutical companies collectively as a sector of industry.)' and 'globalists' (a rightist term describe 'unpatriotic' capitalists), e.g George Soros (a Jewish Billionaire who often supports progressive leaning projects around the world), and often ties in with antisemitic tropes of Jewish plots to undermine white patriarchy.

I would just say that it's obvious there is a "trans agenda", but you don't need to appeal to anything like "Jewish plots".

Rather, just look at the openly published material from left-wing political groups and "human rights" organisations or whatever.

I mean, the Green Party is pushing the trans agenda themselves!

Absolutely. Don't they realise that we've seen the Dentons document? We know all about Stonewall's Diversity Champions and the resultant capture of institutions like the police, NHS, government departments etc. ad nauseam.

There’s actually an even more fundamental problem to that particular argument.

The document itself IS setting out a trans activist agenda. And trying to encourage and support that agenda.

It’s the online equivalent of holding someone by the wrists and making them slap themselves, all while saying ‘stop hitting yourself’.

TheBiologyStupid · 23/06/2023 14:10

Very true, Incoming.

Ironically, Tracey Ullman's "Woke Support Group" has been censored by Youtube. You can still find it on Twitter, though.

Wait, so being suspicious of globalism is now a right wing thing?

It's like upside-down land!

Good video.

One I like from SNL:
