Feminism: Sex & gender discussions

Sex ed can often be a tricky issue. We used to have information evenings (pre covid) at the school where the district hurse or health visitor or equivalent and teachers would discuss and answer parents' questions.
The teaching of proper names I was always taught was protective against abuse. But I've just googled for evidence of this and didn't find anything - several assertions, but not actual evidence.

I've come across this in several schools involving religious groups. Which is why the government's failure to give schools comprehensive guidelines leaves schools open to this type of demand. And of course makes it difficult to discuss the whole thing as some schools get criticism from so many quarters.
