Video for Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Week, on dealing with emotions:
https://www.youtube.com/live/KDa0bNlUMk8?feature=share&t=3450

A transwoman with MS talked about the need to find humour in medical situations by recounting getting an erection during an X-Ray because the female nurse was attractive. This person is an educational psychologist at the University of Southampton.

MS is a debilitating disease with horrible symptoms. Why did the MS Trust feature this particular experience? MS affects more women than men. Even men who have MS are unlikely to have had this experience.

Please contact the MS Trust to complain!

StrawberryWasp · 02/05/2023 10:35

He doesn't actually say he got an erection, you are presuming he still has a penis?

He obviously finds women attractive, I presume he identifies as a lesbian?

No lesbian would 'joke'with a female nurse about how 'excited' they were by another attractive female nurse.

Only a man would do that, and expect women to enjoy the joke.

He presumed it was ok to joke with both the nurse and this female interviewer about his arousal, without any consideration of how uncomfortable that would make them.

Even if he no longer has a penis he's still so obviously a man in his attitude.

StrawberryWasp · 02/05/2023 10:39

Also as an educational psychologist this person will be working with schools, children and parents and advising them, and is training new educational psychologists on how to support gender non-conforming children.

They are in a powerful position to influence schools and a psychological profession specifically for schools and children.

God that's grim.

MenopausalMe · 02/05/2023 11:16

Afraid the MS Trust have joined my list of charities I won’t be supporting again. I don’t find sexual harassment of nurses an amusing anecdote.

EveryWitchWaybutLoose · 02/05/2023 11:33

The poor nurse, being objectified while doing her job. It’s pretty rank to feature this in a public information video. Is there an email address to write to complain? It’s akin to sexual harassment.

EmotionalwreckMSer · 02/05/2023 12:36

I signed up for this live stream because I am struggling with my emotions due to MS. I was expecting, and hoping, that I would come away with at least one tip to help me deal with this symptom, that at times is out of control, but there is no other readily available treatment for.

I was disappointed that an example only 49% of the population, less if you factor in fewer men are diagnosed with MS, when I got to this part. How exclusionary and entitled of him! There are so many other embarrassing symptoms affecting both sexes that could’ve been used as an example. Both sexes will experience bladder and bowel issues, these will often cause humiliating experience. Why not find a “Funny“ anecdote about b&b dysfunction rather than penis?

I am pleased to see the MS trust have taken the video down.

Agree

If you want to convince everyone that you're a woman, and you feel like a woman inside and out (and this person does pass better than a lot of trans women), then why would you want to share with the world a story that serves only to remind people that you're male?

wantmorenow · 02/05/2023 14:41

Links don't work for me? Has it been taken down?

dimorphism · 02/05/2023 14:47

oldwomanwhoruns · 02/05/2023 08:44

I've just watched that video clip.
That horrible man.
He thinks that the whole incident was 'fun' and 'funny'.

This is why we need to get these men out of our spaces. They have zero respect or empathy for women. That think that we are things, not people. He is dressed up as a woman, making fun of us. Gross.

This. The video appears to have gone but the only possible reason to recount this experience is to intimidate and bully. What possible other reason could there be? Again using unconsenting women as props.

oldwomanwhoruns · 02/05/2023 15:10

And the 'Educational Psychologist' was smiling and nodding along with this man, as he recounted his growing excitement at being in a small space with an attractive young nurse.

If anyone ever doubted that Autogynephiles were a Thing, this video should have made their existence crystal clear.

Presumably our Watchers have reported our interest, hence the video now being made private.

FrancescaContini · 02/05/2023 15:31

The Ed psychologist was the Southampton university woman?

BonfireLady · 02/05/2023 19:29

I wonder if anyone archived it before it got taken down 🤞🤞
I didn't get chance to see it but from the OP's post and other comments, it sounds like it would be a very useful way to demonstrate the removal of personal boundaries where the unwitting involvement of a nurse in a GAP (please rearrange the acronym) fetish is what a charity would like to be known for. Sounds pretty grim.

StrawberryWasp · 02/05/2023 19:43

Cora Sergeant is regulated by the Health Care Professional Council.

I'm not sure how this would sit with professional conduct? This would be true for any man who talked like this publically.

I also hope Cora's colleague's are aware of these concerns given he works with young women.

bellinisurge · 02/05/2023 21:27

It's either a new one up or they are running it again. I'll watch it later. I rely so much on the MS Trust. The creep is still on it. If it's still got this shit, I will kick off.

EmotionalwreckMSer · 02/05/2023 22:01

its the same one, but they clipped out the “funny” story at round 55min

bellinisurge · 02/05/2023 22:03

Yeah. Just watched it. That creep with his big hands and his Adams apple can fuck off.

The video is back, but they have cut out the funny story at about 55 min. New link

Sorry, Bonfire. It didn't take. Maybe someone else got it.

ArabeIIaScott · 02/05/2023 22:11

I'm glad they've at least acknowledged how inappropriate that was.

No acknowledgment, they took down the original video after it got highlighted here, took out the totally inappropriate funny story, posted it again and so far not a peep. Almost like it never happened 🤔

StrawberryWasp · 02/05/2023 22:16

I hope Cora is aware that it's been cut and why.

StrawberryWasp · 02/05/2023 22:23

I think Southampton Uni have removed Cora's contact details?

I hope this means they are aware.

But I also hope Cora has not received any abuse.
