Well that was strange - trailed but not shown. Was going to be about football in Germany allowing TW and NB to choose which sex team they wanted to play on.

How amateur football in Germany is approaching transgender inclusion - BBC Sport
Touches on safety, but TW are to choose, the women are not asked. The TW interviewed adamant they are not the strongest or fastest.

Opposing view given airtime, surprisingly.

Everyone should be allowed to play sport, says the top bloke, no problem with allowing mixed sex participation. Hmmmm.

Anyway, there's the link.

How German football approaches transgender inclusion

BBC Sport explores a new policy in German football by which transgender women can choose whether to play in men's or women's teams.

After reading through so many statements from various sports organisations on trans inclusion, inclusiveness etc. it really struck me how the one group which doesn't have to be consulted, is forced into silence, and is then expected to clap enthusiastically for trans athletes consists of the group which didn't even have access to playing sports until quite recently.

This is finally changing, but seeing examples where it has not changed show glaringly how women and girls don't count as people who should have a say about anything at all.

It's not all bad, as our current discussions about these issues are finally spreading out into the public sphere and creating a new grassroots women's rights movement. Just sad that it is still needed and that things are going backwards in many places for women and girls.
