Oh I was fully expecting to get kicked out (or kicked in), but amazingly all it took was a hat, a hoodie and a he/him badge to "pass". Even afterwards Labelle thought the Edinburgh event went well and didn't realise.
I think he (and the audience) were expecting terfs to be this big scary threat all yelling in their face and attacking them etc (lol projection), and he certainly talked them up to be such, lots of "oh no are there terfs outside??" every time someone went upstairs to buy a coffee. They never talk to actual terfs. So when he just had a normie woman taking the piss out of him and being nice, he was totally unprepared.

Most of the audience were nice, they were awkward, likely autistic, teenagers and 20-somethings into alt fashion. They really reminded me of myself at that age, which I think is how I blended in so well. There was one Black Pamper and a couple of old guys and a neckbearded goon but that was about it. I genuinely had fun singing MANAMANA with them! And they made me laugh a few times, which was more than Labelle himself did. I have more confidence in my jokes now as a result...
I used to be in an improv troupe at uni, and it really felt like doing that again. I've missed it! Like the Gengar hoodie thing at the end, I didn't even plan that joke, that was all Sophie. Sophie actually makes a very good "straight man" for improv comedy...

I made some excuse and left after I got that picture signed, went round the corner, took off my hat and hoodie, and cried laughing for a good few minutes. Still can't believe a) I got away with it and b) the mad lad actually signed it.

Brilliant Suffrajester ! Was your heart not racing? I couldn’t do it …not that I would pass as anything but an old terf 😆. I’ll be watching all your vids now. The humour and piss taking of the gender critical movement is just amazing.
