In admiration of those who spoke today, and to ensure that your words are not drowned out and not heard. Here's a transcript (with apologies for any mis-types or mis-heards!)

I want to speak to these guys (gestures to TRAs) Can I have that sign again? (is passed a sign saying ‘Lesbians Don’t Like Dick’) I wanted to say to all of you, you are homophobes. You are homophobes. Go home. Apologise to your mothers. You are homophobic misogynistic aresholes. Your flag was designed by a paedophile, your flag was designed by a cross-dressing fetishist. Go home. Apologise to your mothers. (Speaker 18)

Brilliant, thank you pombear.

pombear · 26/03/2023 22:15

I just want to say, after what’s happened, what happened in Auckland, New Zealand, a man pretending to be a woman said he got a sexual kick out of being violent towards Posie and the others standing for women who were there. And that’s who they are. We don’t often find that they admit to having this sexual perversion but they have, so now we can publicise this. Now we can tell the world that they’ve actually admitted to getting their sexual kick out of being violent towards women. (Speaker 19)

FriendofJoanne · 26/03/2023 22:36

Thank you @pombear and all of the women who went today. Fantastic speeches

HandShoe · 26/03/2023 22:45

Thank you so much for doing this. Great to be able to ‘hear’ the speeches

MrsOvertonsWindow · 26/03/2023 22:51

Thank you pombear. The trans extremists tried to silence women but you've let the women be heard. Flowers

EndlessTea · 26/03/2023 23:05

Thank you so much pombear

This a lot of work and I really appreciate it.

Lydiahateswashing · 26/03/2023 23:06

TLDR version?

pombear · 26/03/2023 23:17

Lydiahateswashing · 26/03/2023 23:06

TLDR version?

Women spoke.

Some people didn't like it and tried to drown their voices out. Here is what they said.

Men can't be women. Women can't be men.

Women's safety, privacy and dignity is important.
Children's safety is paramount.

Sorry you haven't got time to read the testaments of women speaking in a really intimidating space in London today.

Oh, and Julia Long apparently aspires to be dignified. Which I'm 😮about!

I’m sorry that you jump to that aggressive conclusion.

not that I should have to explain, but actually have dyslexia and find that amount of text really hard to read and process but wanted to understand what was going on.

I appreciate your challenge to the text wall.

It takes quite a long time to transcribe events like this, particularly against the backdrop of the noise that these speakers faced, and to be asked to do a TLDR after a couple of hours work didn't land well!
I started the thread so it stood as a record of what women said, because the film is difficult for many people to hear, particularly those with conditions where the sirens, shouting and other noise makes it even more difficult to follow along. It's not designed as a chat thread to discuss or summarise the event, as there are threads elsewhere. I have tried to chunk the paragraphs up as much as possible, and to split some of the longer speeches into a couple of posts.

Hopefully the other thread I've linked to will give you an understanding of what was going on.

I am sorry for offending you. I didn’t mean to 😞

And this is where, hopefully, we've both just demonstrated that through conversation and hearing each other, even on an internet forum, we understand where each other are coming from, listen to how something has landed, and go 'oh, OK, I get where you were coming from'.

You didn't offend me, and hopefully I didn't offend you. I now understand your original comment and get where you were coming from, and I'm hoping you understood my comeback from how I'd misread your ask for tldr.

Maybe we could model the way for other thread/forum/internet miscommunications!

Thankyou Pombear.

ohfibonacci · 26/03/2023 23:52

Hi @Lydiahateswashing can you use a text reader? My kids are all dyslexic and they use text to speech.

ohfibonacci · 26/03/2023 23:53

Oh and thank you so much Pombear. That was incredible to read. Did you film it then transcribe after?

BlessedKali · 26/03/2023 23:56

When and where are the next Let Women Speak events? Im definitely going.

TangledUpinBlu · 27/03/2023 00:03

Last Sunday of the month, which in April is the day before a bank holiday Monday so I can attend without so much logistical bother and hope it will be the same for many others with caring responsibilities and or full time jobs.
I'm determined to be there after the shit show that was this weekend.
Can anyone advise what time meet ups start before hand and roughly when women start dispersing from the pub after?
I'm coming on the train from the midlands and don't want to miss anything but equally don't want to be hanging around too much.
