Much broader than just gender related issues, but might be of interest to some here.

The End of Innocence? What should and shouldn't be taught in schools

Thu, 23 February 2023, 19:00 – 21:00 GMT

Whether it's racialized curricula, radicalized educators, or sexualized reading material, students today are being exposed to adult themes and lesson content at younger ages than previous generations. Why is this happening? Is it harmful, and–if so–what should we be doing about it? Or is it part of schools’ job to prepare children for the society in which they are growing up?

Jennie Bristow, Senior Lecturer in Sociology at Canterbury Christ Church University, Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre for Parenting Culture Studies, and writer on generational conflict and collaboration.

James Esses, Writer, Commentator and co-founder of 'Thoughtful Therapists’.

Thank you Nonny - this looks really interesting.

The press have recently been probing the dangers of children being gaslit in schools by trans activist groups and there's lots being exposed:

I think anything can be taught in schools, but it needs to be
a) age-appropriate
and
b) factual

If it's not factual but a matter of belief or opinion, like religion, or trans identities, then
c) we need to have both/all sides presented.

Of course there is some overlap with b) and c), in that you can present facts (such as race riots) in a way that is influenced by beliefs and prejudices. But basically I think people get angry when teaching is not age-appropriate (5 year olds don't need to know about sexual practices etc.) or the teaching is biased.
