Rare to see any mention of the harms.

Interesting that although she describes the positives of the experiences that went well, any actual discussion of those is glossed over.

And an absolutely stark description of the way in which the process is viewed by some of those who commission the process.

I just read that and was a bit 🤔

It was a real horror story but hold on for the sales pitch from the baby trafficking agency who will stop this from happening to you 😡🤮

I read this earlier. I’d love to know who the real celebrity is. Name and shame I say. I can think of a few possibilities 🤔.

And you’re right about the agency. The idea that there’s such a thing as a “sound” contract is some sort of horrific joke. The agency is in California, the place that had a contract for one arrangement that stipulated the intended parents got final say in removing life support for a pregnant woman over her own family, in case there was a possibility of the baby being delivered safely at an appropriate gestation.

So they can get stuffed with “a good agency and contract” will prevent all this. It’s impossible to legislate, which is why it should be banned.

Yes, it’s clearly a sales pitch for the existence of surrogacy agencies.

The story here is: allow us to top-slice your earnings when you agree to risk your life and health in exchange for money, and we’ll find you less unpleasant purchasers to exploit your body.

It certainly highlights some of the issues.

But not one word on the health of surrogates. Nor anything about centring the child at all.

It's still 'its ok if regulated'. Which I don't believe is true for one second.

Nothing about the effect on the baby - sort or long term. Nothing about the effect on the surrogate mother's existing children. Nothing about birth injuries. Nothing about exploring what Catherine's next move would have been if there hadn't been a miscarriage - she already had a baby at that point, would she have requested termination?
