Yep. Can’t vote Labour till they sort it out.

DarkDayforMN · 20/01/2023 12:22

Sitting nearby, Lloyd Russell-Moyle went puce — perhaps less surprising — and started to heckle every woman who spoke of their similar concerns. Later, when Miriam Cates, a Conservative MP and friend, spoke of her concerns around safeguarding, he accused her of being a bigot before crossing over to the Tory side of the Chamber to sit on the side benches, very close to her, staring as if to intimidate her.

Go Rosie! Call out the Roid-Moid for what he is.

Duffield, 51,

sorry I got distracted by this for a moment. All hail this woman, she clearly has superpowers. Election winning superpowers, outstanding bravery superpowers, standing your ground superpowers, telling it like it is superpowers and, well, that. Maybe that's what having a clear conscience and knowing you've told the truth does for you.

TheClogLady · 20/01/2023 12:24

Wtf? The Odious Mole MP actually went over and sat on the Tory benches in order to better give Miriam the stink eye?

PronounssheRa · 20/01/2023 12:33

He sat on the side benches which is as close to miriam as he could get without crossing the floor. This photo is allegedly of the incident (but i haven't had time to check yet)

Absolutely correct. I was so sceptically appalled that I found the footage and it is indeed from the same debate. Think it’s at around 1:51:00-ish.

I would love to know how often MPs go and sit on the opposite side of the chamber. If it’s not a common occurrence then he’s obviously done it for a specific purpose which should be investigated.

How people can be ranting about inclusion and acceptance and being kind then pull this kind of shit is beyond me.

PaterPower · 20/01/2023 12:47

He’s a piece of work isn’t he?

I’d be concerned for the domestic partner (if any; I can’t find the stomach to Google him) in his life. On the evidence from the ‘debate,’ if I were their friend I’d be checking they’re ok.

As for his behaviour at work… the silence from the Speaker’s Office, the Labour Party’s whips and leadership team paints an unfortunate picture of the levels of toxicity and bullying they’re content to let slide.

PronounssheRa · 20/01/2023 12:52

There are, if I recall correctly, side benches on both side of the chamber, absolutely no need for him to sit where he did.

RoyalCorgi · 20/01/2023 13:05

A really fantastic article that manages to cover a lot of ground in relatively few words. Had a bit of a chuckle at "Owen Jones issued a grovelling apology for attending my election rally (not as sorry as I am!)."

SerotinaPickeler · 20/01/2023 13:25

A great article. Rosie makes it clear, to me, why I have lost faith in the Labour Party. The disdain for women is laid bare and brings on such anger that I will not vote for them again until they admit their misogyny and do something about it.

HiccupHorrendousHaddock · 20/01/2023 14:56

God bless you, Rosie, you've been a stalwart defender and we're damned lucky to have you.

WickedSerious · 20/01/2023 15:09

DarkDayforMN · 20/01/2023 12:36

wow, that dude really wears his inner psycho on the outside.

He's a prick,a rancid little prick.

DaughterOfPsychiatrist · 20/01/2023 15:35

Well, at least we have some sort of evidence as to why it wasn’t safe for Rosie to attend Labour Conference - with party colleagues like this, who needs an opposition?

At least Miriam has the small benefit of being on the Tory bench. She should move to a more middle spot, keep the riff raff at bay.

ScrollingLeaves · 20/01/2023 17:07

“Is it starting to look like Labour has a women problem? It certainly is for the 7,000-strong group of women members, councillors and activists who make up Labour Women’s Declaration and had a stall at last year’s party conference refused.“

7000 members not being listened to? That’s a very large number to ignore.

WarriorN · 20/01/2023 17:26

Rosie, you are a hero.

PronounssheRa · 20/01/2023 17:27

Quite. If this is how he acts in public and on camera, just imagine what he is like in more private settings.

MorvenOfMalvern · 20/01/2023 18:00

I know @DarkDayforMN I also reread that bit! She looks so much younger! And I look so haggard and don't have a fraction of her stress!

Thank you for the sharetoken @EmmatheStageRat

AtrociousCircumstance · 20/01/2023 18:06

Rosie for PM.

Fuck this tidal wave of spittle-launching, apoplectic, aggressive misogynist pricks.

adulthumanfemalemum · 20/01/2023 18:06

I love Rosie, really hope she is strong enough to keep on fighting on despite all the shit she is getting. She's my MP but apparently fell out with my local Labour group over petty local shit, and also because some of the local Labour people are very TWAW.

Areyouactuallyserious · 20/01/2023 18:08

GoldenGorilla · 20/01/2023 12:05

Yep. Can’t vote Labour till they sort it out.

Same unfortunately

IdaGoodnight · 20/01/2023 18:09

Can you imagine doing that (R-M) in a work meeting. After having a robust discussion over the table and then getting up and sitting next to person, swivelling to face them. Colleagues / HR would have a field day. You just wouldn’t.
