Secondary school (girls only) included a transwoman in their assembly on inspirational women

Le sigh. My daughter is 13 and her assembly this week had a game where they had to guess what woman the teacher was referring to from inspiring women from history or similar. She can't remember who the TW was, but sounds like maybe Caitlyn Jenner. Who "transitioned" age 65 and says Bruce still lives inside them www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2017/may/08/caitlyn-jenner-bruce-transitioning-kardashians-reality-tv-star

Regardless of who the TW was, and fortunately my kid is aware that woman is not a costume, I'd like to complain on 2 grounds:

  1. Impartiality - it's not a fact that TW are women, it's the teachers opinion. They should not present it as fact and they need to be careful about balance on such a politically sensitive subject.
  1. If the point was to provide inspiration to the girls, how does featuring a TW help? None of the girls can legitimately aspire to be a TW. Why try to teach them that "womanhood" is apparently about what you wear/look like or how you describe yourself?

Can you please help me word a response? I'll ask for a copy of the slides for a start.

What I heard was EI used a women's bathroom and no other women there objected. However she was followed in by Julie Bindel(I think) and her friend who shouted at the other women there because they weren't objecting to EI?

I didn’t know about that incident with JB, I meant the one in his book, he mentions an incident from years ago. He was changing I think, in the Ladies.

If anything similar happens again I would go straight to formal complaint. They can’t ignore that.

Have you checked what their teaching abut gender identity in PSHE/RSE?

@Leafstamp Yes, I will definitely take it further next time - l'm frustrated that I didn't follow it up at the time... but just after I had complained, I was referred to the breast clinic (thankfully all was well!) so I let it drop.

Annoyingly, I was also in the middle of complaining to DS's all boys school about a similar issue - the recommendation of trans 'artist', author and activist Sophie Labelle to the pupils...a delightful individual with a self declared Adult Baby fetish 😬.
I have, at times, felt really angry that my children's schools are toeing such a biased line and that as a result I have to spend precious time and energy pulling them up on it. But the alternative is putting my head in the sand, which I am not willing to do.

I've checked some of their PSHE resources and so far, so good - but the school do have several FTM pupils (clearly not just social transitioning, but on testosterone) so I'm keeping an eye on how they deal with this as they move up into the older years. Thankfully, DD is very sensible, but other vulnerable girls in her year are definitely not and the school should be safeguarding them, not gaslighting them.

So the fact they became multi millionaires by their hardwork is nothing to do with them being inspirational only that they are trans ? Kids will probably only know her as Kylie Jenner from I'm a celebrity.

Should only binary people be considered to be inspirational ?

Only women should be considered within the category of inspirational women.

binary people? You mean, human people?
