Any one else looking forward to some great feminist books in the new year?

Coming up, we have:

Hannah Barnes: Time to Think: The Inside Story of the Collapse of the Tavistock’s Gender Service for Children (February)

Victoria Smith: Hags: The Demonisation of Middle-Aged Women (March)

Hadley Freeman: Good Girls: A story and study of anorexia (April)

Both Hadley and Victoria are fabulous writers, so both those books promise to be really excellent reads. And Hannah is one of the Newsnight journalists who did the GIDS expose, so should also be worth reading.

If anyone knows of any others, please share!

Look forward to reading, thanks for sharing.

One book that certainly can't come out soon enough for me is Mary Harrington's

ValancyRedfern · 28/12/2022 16:36

Thanks for this. I can't wait for all of these!

Place marking for my reads in 2023. Especially interested in the Hags one. Being a middle aged woman and all.

This one. The author uses or used the name of la scapigliata on Twitter. She's a retired NHS psychiatrist.

There are copious references which are so useful to have at your fingertips.

Thank you! I'm a fan of la scapigliata. I see that it came out last month and wondered why I hadn't read any reviews, but it appears that it's been self-published - perhaps because she's using a pseudonym?

Yes la scapigliata's book has been self published. It's printed by Amazon according the info inside, and I bought it from Amazon.
