Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this board and educated me over the years

Does anyone ever just feel utterly depressed and like there is no hope?

I need some encouragement.

Thank you, TheirEminence, for that inspirational post from Barracker. It should be read out at every women's rally around the UK. 💜💜💜💜💜

I’ve kept this post for over a year and a half and I’m glad it is coming in handy now. Please share it. All credit to Barracker though, wherever she may be.

I feel the same OP. The past couple of days I think I've over-consumed this stuff, from the highs (Beira's Place) to the lows again (GRC stuff) and it is just too much, especially when there are few people in RL who I can talk to about this stuff.

I have to keep reminding myself women will not be silenced and I am grateful to anyone, man or woman, who is speaking up and fighting on behalf of anyone like me who sometimes just doesn't have it in them.

I have found joining a local group has helped, whether it be ReSisters, WRN, Local Standing for Women etc. Even if you can’t be involved in direct action - you could maybe offer support in the background - writing letters/press releases, designing leaflets or whatever. Just being involved with a group on a messaging level helps enormously with the mental fatigue of it all. I think the different groups are involving each other more and more in joint campaigns, which makes it feel like a big community of women rising up - we are truly amazing when we organise.

Barracker was brilliant, and her posts get to the core of the matter.

I wonder in a way if things have to get worse before they get better. I think a lot of people just don't understand the implications of what the Scottish government is doing or don't understand how it will affect them. I don't know what it will take to peak people but at some point I think people will peak, and then they'll get angry and want to change things.

Of course, at that point it becomes much more difficult, because it's harder to repeal bad law than it is to stop it being passed in the first place. But we keep on ploughing on.

@Whatthechicken I’ve just been hunting around on fb as I think you’re right, keeping it all in is not good for mental health, finding likeminded people is key.

Thank you to everyone on this board who keeps me sane.

Yes I joined my local wrn and it's lovely to have that safe space of like minded women. They are really impressive activists and I'm in awe of them frankly. Women are amazing.

Women have to stand up and be counted for themselves and their daughters. Just remove your cash from companies that have mixed sex spaces, MN IS POWERFUL
