Anyone who works in the CS and wears Green, purple, white colours to the office? I rarely go in but will be in a few weeks. I have this scarf and now I am doubting whether I should wear it. Wonder whether the sewn in tag would be a no no?

I was thinking we need a crafter.

CrochetBug · 15/11/2022 22:01

I can make basic wire and bead jewellery. And embroidery. But I'm quite busy for the next couple of months
Might be able to make things after Christmas though.

CrochetBug · 15/11/2022 22:02

And crochet obvs

We're only allowed to wear the official staff lanyard, but I do have badges (including a couple of Terflon ones thanks to Elaine Miller) on my work rucksack. I also made a purple, green, and white friendship bracelet but it's looking a bit tired so I might need to do another one.

Tallisker · 15/11/2022 23:45

Bloody hell that's a crap link. Sorry!

dawnfromgavinandstacey · 16/11/2022 07:49

I have three stacking thumb rings I wear in green silver and purple. I wear these to the office

KohlaParasaurus · 16/11/2022 08:13

I plaited a lanyard from narrow green, white and violet ribbon when everyone in my institution took to wearing rainbow lanyards. Nobody said a word.

I have an Alison Moorre stacking ring. Now debating on asking for an emerald for Christmas and an amethyst for my birthday to go with a white sapphire I have!

I just looked at her website and saw this beauty

I clicked the link and it’s listed as a ‘genderqueer pride scarf’ Confused

Did you not see the wee ones on twitter having a tantrum because those nasty female supremacist as has stolen their colours? It would have been funny if it wasn’t so pathetic.

Pricey but I love this one:

I just spotted a sufragette scarf in the House of Commons, so would assume it is fine!

HootyMcboob76 · 16/11/2022 16:39

Just crocheted myself this hat. Not had the nerve to wear it yet though, maybe when the snow comes here in terfy Scotland....

Oooh I love that hat. I’ve just started myself a scarf. I’ve decided it’s time to nail my colours to the mast. 💚🤍💜

“I imagine that's the point?

Irony?

Or that if you get accused of transphobia (for showing support for woman) you could should the receipt that actually it is a genderqueer (trans umbrella) pride scarf.”

indeed. I am quite aware of who, in my little corner of the CS would complain about “micro aggressions” were they to spot me wearing such a scarf. It would give me the greatest of pleasure to respond to a formal complaint - for surely there would be one - with a copy of the receipt.

But why would your scarf be a micro aggression when they can wear rainbow lanyards etc.? 🤷🏼‍♀️ One rule for one?

CaronPoivre · 16/11/2022 17:43

Love the hat. How hard was it to crochet?

Super easy. Took about an hour from start to finish, then I sewed on a removeable furry pom pom secured with elastic to a button underneath the top of the hat on the inside, so it can be taken off for washing etc.

Here's the link.

Happylittlechicken · 16/11/2022 17:50

i think we should do a resource of patterns etc for those wanting to create gorgeous suffragette items?

CaronPoivre · 16/11/2022 18:11

@HootyMcboob76 Thank you.
