The right to identify as Jesus Christ?

So it seems a woman has brought a claim, under the name of "The Lord Jesus Christ", that she had been wrongly named, that she was reborn of water and spirit from the living god of Jesus Christ and sought relief, relating to the name on her birth certificate and registration of her birth: www.rollonfriday.com/news-content/court-threatens-restraint-order-against-woman-who-changed-her-name-jesus-christ
Seems fair enough - self-id and all that!

Jellysaurus surely anything else would be Jesus phobic? In identity politics no one is allowed agency over their own faith, opinions or speech

And what about Christians? Would they now have to worship this Jesus? Would they still be allowed to worship the Jesus that they thought they believed in?

Well they cant say its fine for people to say they're the opposite gender but then not this 🤷🏻‍♀️

OhHolyJesus · 12/11/2022 21:04

I felt the need to say, it's not me.

I am Jesus Christ, I can turn water into wine with my kit from wilkos. And I feel like I feed the 5 thousand every day.

I heard this is a common situation with ppl suffering PDs and Squizophenia (I can’t remember the most Pc name nowadays, so apologies in advance).
I did met a man early 30s he was also iding as Jesus. He was on meds.

Yes, me too. And we had a reasonably interesting conversation, and I didn't try and convince him he wasn't Jesus, but then I wasn't his doctor, just a random person at the bus stop.

Walk across my swimming pool...........

"Walk across my swimming pool..........."

Apparently, you can walk across your swimming pool if it's filled with custard:

This makes me sad in a way, I’ve worked with people with severe psychosis and many did think that they were Jesus Christ, is society going to enable this now?

Delphinium20 · 13/11/2022 04:46

Despite not being a Christian, I'd prefer deluded people to choose JC over some of the other bs identities. JC was non-violent, pro-working class, democratic and could change water into wine. JC didn't demand to play on the women's sport teams. JC was way cool.

NutellaEllaElla · 13/11/2022 05:34

I actually don't know what the judges problem is, it's just a name change and Jesus isn't exactly uncommon.

Good point. Jesus is one the most common names in the Americas-what with our Latin cultures

  1. She wants to change her birth certificate. Nobody can change the birth certificate, except for some trans-identified individuals. If they can, why can't she?

  2. She is not just changing her name. She is claiming the identity, that she has always been JC, the Son of God, Salvator Mundi, etc etc. This is tecognised as delusional.

I thought Bono already has this covered? Grin

Wow, what a waste of custard!

This woman needs psychiatric assessment and support. Not sure that publicising her distress is such a great idea. It reminds me of the visits I made to a friend who'd had a breakdown: Napoleon and Jesus were on the same ward and very anxious to talk.
