Selling pictures of your feet

My teen dds think this is a great way of making money and see it as harmless. The eldest claims she has sold photos in the past. She's 15 and lives with her dad and sadly can't be relied upon to tell the truth. My other Dd lives with me and is younger. They joke about selling foot photos online to raise money for various things they want. I have said that some weird pervert will be wanking over those photos and I would personally feel unclean selling photos of my feet. How do teens even know how to go about selling photos of their feet? How is money transferred when they don't have bank accounts? Is this a way of getting teens into sex work with a harmless foot photo or two?

I've done this. It was easy. I listed shoes on eBay under the caption "well worn" had them message me straight away, I sent them a photo of my contact info (email and PayPal) as eBay don't "read" the photo or info on it, but do pick up on typed out emails etc and spoke on Snapchat, then they paid me via PayPal.
Kind of grim but I see it as harmless. I used to make quite a few hundred quid here and there. I'd be very uncomfortable and grossed out with someone under 18 doing it though. The people use the photos to fulfil a fetish.

namechangeagain3 · 05/11/2022 20:30

It's quite huge on TikTok with women speaking about it, so if she has that she's probably seen it on there.

Dacadactyl · 05/11/2022 20:31

I wouldnt like this at all. Get them off tiktok (if it turns out theyve seen this on there) would be my advice.

CervixSampler · 05/11/2022 21:10

So you advertise shoes for sale but they contact you for photos of your feet?

OP posts:
namechangeagain3 · 05/11/2022 22:18

Pretty much yeah. I don't do it anymore but when I needed cash I did. I saw it posted on a group somewhere of what a woman did. And it worked. If you go on eBay and type in well worn shoes you'll find loads of rancid shoes for sale. You just go from there 🤦🏽‍♀️

WahineToa · 05/11/2022 22:20

My daughter told me about this and I initially said, oh that seems harmless, it’s just feet’ but she was the one who said, Mum! Think about what they’re doing with them!

ThatGirlInACountrySong · 05/11/2022 22:22

It's not just used and worn shoes....

EarthSight · 05/11/2022 22:36

A 15 year old doing this is grim. She is not of the age yet to be able to see this in context. It's sad that she even knows about foot fetishes and shows much girls are exposed to everything now. Check out OnlyFans because it might be something to do with that .

EarthSight · 05/11/2022 22:37

Also - do the men know she's 15??? Is this even legal??

mangomangodurian · 05/11/2022 22:48

Yeah, I think it's pretty disturbing. My fiancé and I are planning on buying land and growing our own food to free our family up financially and give our kids more freedom from money. I don't want my kids to know scarcity like this. I think Teens selling pictures of their feet online can absolutely be a way of getting into sex work. And them thinking that this is a normal thing is really disturbing

mangomangodurian · 05/11/2022 22:54

I'm in the US and we don't have like an out in the open sex industry. I mean not like Germany or Amsterdam, The pandemic and the only fans boom has really promoted and started to normalize "sex work" to my generation(26) and below. Im concerned the youngest generation will believe that prostitution is a normal aspect of life, instead of a feature of late stage capitalism. Even worse the females think that sex work is feminist

This. I hate that only fans even exists.

CervixSampler · 06/11/2022 14:40

It all sounds rather grim. Tempting though. I'd be worried about using eBay as I know it is possible to access seller's contact details if there's a problem with the sale. Unless they have changed things since then. You'd surely have to create a whole anonymous account with only an email address.

I’m sorry, this is your 15 year old? Surely if she is lying about things like this then you/dad should be monitoring her more closely, even possibly having supervised internet, and explaining to her that unfortunately since she’s said xyz you can’t trust her with her phone/social media independently because she either sells pictures or lies about doing so. Even the lie would worry me.

As for your younger daughter, I’d be having a talk with her and saying you don’t appreciate the silly comments and if she wants to keep her phone/devices she’d better get a sensible brain in her head.

Kanaloa · 06/11/2022 14:51

By the way, what other things has she lied about, for you to have the idea she ‘can’t be relied on to tell the truth?’ Often when teens/children lie at least some of what they say might be true, so I’d be concerned about that. And even if none of it is true, lying for attention is a bit worrying too.

ShamedBySiri · 06/11/2022 15:11

I would have a good look at the Nordic Model Now university handbook section on webcamming OP. These things may start off seeming harmless but can escalate and there are many risks. Online security is very important - your fifteen year old probably isn't sufficiently tech savvy to protect herself adequately.

Yes.

This is potential sexual exploitation of a child.

I would be putting up watertight boundaries and having some serious conversations.

Pumpkindoodles · 06/11/2022 16:19

This op is basically encouraging details from posters about how they have sold their feet pics online.
And relating it back to underage children.

surely if the op is interested it should be more like is my child being serious or joking. And how do I ensure they don’t do this.
not how would a teenager go about it

ArcaneWireless · 06/11/2022 16:26

Some manky article is exploiting your child.

This week feet.

Next week…

Thelnebriati · 06/11/2022 16:38

OP has been around these parts for some time if that helps.

Tiktok is not suitable for teenagers 😬

CervixSampler · 06/11/2022 17:08

I will be bringing this up with her support worker. I have no control over anything with her and her dad is useless. No boundaries, no consequences. She lives with him because she's off the rails and violent at home. Younger Dd uses tiktok for hair and skin care and animals. I check her phone regularly. Older Dd is a complete nightmare. She lies about everything and I'm trying to get her assessed but meeting brick walls.

Here’s some more on the above - basically TikTok influencers are making ads telling people to sell foot pics, the ads aren’t always marked AS ads and TikTok won’t comment.

The websites that would be feetpic sellers are told to sign up to charge money to sign you up. And then, unsurprisingly the money never materialises, because the website doesn’t actually want to sell foot pics, it wants to get gullible young women and girls (and some men) to pay the sign up fee.

The below is story of a journo trying to sell foot pics (no money made).

Here’s some screenshots of the FeetFinder website’s Trustpilot:

Your daughters are falling for online scams.

(that’s not to say foot fetishists don’t exist but they usually prey on random women selling used shoes on FB marketplace or eBay and just try and get photos for free ‘oh, I really like these sandals, could you please show me a pic of them on your feet so I can see how they look? Oh, I’m not sure if they’ll work for me, can you please send a pic of your feet without shoes on so I can compare your feet to mine’ and then they disappear without buying the sandals!)

Hearing stuff like this confirms my plans to take our family off grid. I don't want my children exposed to this degeneracy

I’m sure there was a post on here a while back about a woman who started selling feet pics and ended up escorting, basically desperately chasing after money and as not much was to be found in the tame domains she spiralled down, each stage normalising the next, foot pics, camming, onlyfans, escorting, full-sex prostitution. Wish I could find it again, it was either in a woman’s magazine title or one of the newspapers, possibly even the guardian.

Massive sympathies OP, it’s very hard to keep our kids safe in the modern world, was hard enough in the past but the internet is full of scams and groomers and the ‘normalisation’ of porn and prostitution.
