I'm convinced it's real. I did some googling and discovered that the 1982 Miss UK was indeed from Grimsby. Her name was Della Dolan, both of which begin with a D, as does Denise. How much more proof do you need?

I think Dame Katy is Julie Bindel, who is very funny in real life. She and JKR were like a comedy duo at times at FiLiA, finishing each others sentences and making the audience cry with laughter as well as doing all the serious stuff

TBH, I found that bit of performative incrowdery between JB and JKR at Filia during the ‘surprise’ appearance a bit lengthy and cringe actually.
Although I still wear my ‘I ❤️ JKR’ T-shirt with pride. Shall await my flaming.😬

I love JKR and Julie telling it how it Is. I don't think you should denigrate the obvious friendship and shared values of two women at a women's conference as "performative".
