Just seen this on Glinner's substack and thought it deserved a thread just to make it more widely known. I'd not heard of this organisation but I hope it's successful. From my seat on the Clapham omnibus the latest WPATH guidelines seem completely 🏏💩

There's a link to something to sign if you wish to.

It's good to see this getting support. The therapists leading this advocate for exploration of gender identity (including causes and co-morbidities) rather than going straight for affirmation and medicalisation.

Excellent declaration, thank you.

'As mental health professionals, public health scientists, and allied organizations and individuals, we have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the current Standards of Care released by WPATH (the World Professional Association for Transgender Health). We hold that WPATH has discredited itself.'

No healthcare provider should be getting away with citing WPATH or 'International best practice' (by which they mean WPATH).

I don't think the interim Cass Review dealt with WPATH but they do say:

'the Review has an important remit to consider best practice models of care from across the world, as well as engaging with relevant professionals from such countries. This will be a specific part of the Review’s research programme.'

I hope the final Cass Review contains some strong statements about WPATH's Standards of Care.
