It would be so hard to back down from social transition at school, I'm glad that the "be kind" mantras are being shown up to be not neutral.

Mermaids, Jolyon Maugham, Stonewall etc won't be happy bunnys. I look forward to a coherent presentation of their case to the consultation. With being on the right side of history and all this shouldn't be a problem, should it?

This is hugely encouraging. It's what we've been fighting for all along.

Imagine if children had Goth affirming surgery, we'd now have a whole host of adults who just realised it was a phase and seeking to detransition.

Good to hear. There was research in this before about how the majority grow out of it, and become comfortable in themselves but that language doesn’t sound good to the people who simplify the issue and see it just like homosexuality was treated. It’s worrying that so many young peoples lives have been complicated and they’ll go through so much when it wasn’t necessary.
