Norway is considered a utopia for women, but I worry for this Supreme Court ruling that could make a woman unable to call her rapist a male.

This is the twitter link I'd intended to share. Apologies.

So it's not the utopia they say for women. I thought Sweden was reversing somewhat on the gender ideology and thought that might influence Norway but this is just shocking.

That’s terrible! So in Norway it is illegal to state a truth?

Appalling. Those poor women

I used Google translate to read the news report in the first link so there was probably quite a lot lost in translation so I'm not entirely clear what has happened.

Two people who either were or had been in a relationship got into a heated argument on Facebook and the defendant posted offensive messages to the claimant which referenced their gender ID. The claimant appears to be a TW but the sex of the defendant isn't mentioned, was it a female ex partner?

Is the crux of the matter correctly sexing the claimant or the nature of the remarks which related to gender ID?

I have the same question, because what I could understand form the Norwegian article suggests that it was the offensive comments that mattered here? But my ability to translate it with Google's help may be insufficient?

In any case, the problem with the currently popular hate laws is that they tend not to view misogyny as a hatred so similar things could have been said to a woman (adjusted to reflect her sex so that they remain equally offensive), but she wouldn't have been able to take the insulting person to court. So some people have protection which other people do not.

It seems to be an appeal about a case where two male people had an argument on Facebook. The conviction occurred a while back and it appears that it was upheld, but the sentence reduced.

Here’s an earlier report in English about the original conviction.

Thank you for the link, I looked on WAH this morning but couldn't find it. It's a bit clearer now.
