If I have missed a thread about this please link to it below.

Otherwise, did anyone hear today's show? I was really shocked to hear how the recording of "no crime hate incidents" that are supposed to be used to build a picture up of repeated victimisation or harassment against an individual (and help the police and other agencies join the dots for a victim) are instead being used to threaten free speech and intimidate people into not sharing entirely legal views.

I can't imagine having a non crime hate incident on my enhanced DBS because I tweeted don't mis-species me I identify as a fish but was assigned mammal at birth.

Didn't hear it but the series is v good for bringing a lot of these issues to the fore.

Yes I have certainly been made aware of loads of issues I had never heard of before listening.

I commented elsewhere that when Harry Miller was introduced as a guest on the programme they led with him being associated with Laurence Fox, and his Bad Law project was mentioned seemingly as subsidiary to that. I can see why the programme went for that distortion, Laurence Fox is more click-baity, but ironically it undermines the thesis of the programme: how to avoid polarisation in debates.

When was the show on? Thanks

Slidey23 · 03/09/2022 09:58

I haven’t listened to this one yet but will do.
@LizzieSiddal if you have the BBC Sounds App, just search for Antisocial and the series will come up.

I heard it while driving. Adam Fleming is a decent journalist trying to carve out a Ros Atkins type space for himself as a popular explainer. He's gay as far as I know (based on mentioning a male partner during a Brexitcast). He obviously gets the homophobia of gender woo woo because he's a bright person. No doubt fearful of the TQ+ lot, he's doing a Stephen Nolan tactic of letting them speak for themselves.

Thank you! Will have a listen.

I thought the episode he did on trans issues was very one sided, but I don't know whether that was down to BBC requirements or his own views.

TheBiologyStupid · 03/09/2022 20:55

Heard it yesterday - a pretty reasonable stab at covering the issue and Harry Miller was given space to make his points.
