Help me recommend and find out about school training packs.

So, our secondary is a great school, son is very happy. The school have just completed training around LGBT using Allsorts pack. Having read the transgender trend review/risk assessment on one of their packs, (
not the one school used,) I have sent them a link to TT’s resources for schools also. I’m concerned that the Allsorts pack may be pretty rubbish to be honest. The training is around supporting LGBT kids at school. I’m wondering has anybody here had this training and can they offer any insight into its quality. I
would like our son to receive a balanced education around these issues I can’t see them being the provider to aid teachers in doing that.
Can anybody recommend a pack that I can actually view, and recommend to the school as an alternative source if balanced information?
He and his friends are GC, and it’s got to the point where all PHSE is just laughed at once they are out of the classroom.
Staff are very nice and I’m sure have the best intentions but perhaps ill informed. it’s really hard as a parent asking the school to provide what they’ve viewed. Often they say they are unable to send information out via email because of intellectual property issues but welcome a meeting. Any help welcome thanks.

Here you are for starters OP:

sex-matters.org/posts/updates/schools-guidance/

safeschoolsallianceuk.net/

Both excellent sources of effective advice for schools

And the Allsorts pack is shocking - especially with its anti female, anti safeguarding approach.

@MrsOvertonsWindow thanks very much. I haven’t seen the pack they were trained with. I know the name of it and it’s not the one reviewed on TT’s site. But I am very predictably disappointed to hear it’s crap. Especially as the teacher I made contact with about this said all staff were happy with the training. I will have a look at the SSA info and pass it on.
The kids I know don’t buy this stuff, in fact they see adults delivering all this as slightly silly. Never the less I just feel that a lot of what I hear second hand from them is just utter nonsense, I’m starting to think that schools should just stay well away from PHSE and just concentrate on curriculum where at least there is some proper national guidance.

@MrsOvertonsWindow i don’t suppose you are able to quote the pack are you? I’m fascinated to see what staff are actually being told. No worries if not, just thought you might have access thanks.

I don't have a copy I'm afraid. Transgender Trend have done a Children's Rights Impact Assessment in relation to the pack (it's on their website) but I suspect that much of that is now covered in the Sex Matters Schools guidance I linked earlier - I recall TT worked with Sex Matters on that.

Thanks again @MrsOvertonsWindow
The training pack the school completed is called; “Understanding and Supporting LGBT+ Children & Young People”.
I’ve seen the review and risk assessment for the other pack which was the trans inclusion kit. That’s the only one I can find any online info for. I am interested to know if anybody can offer any insight into the content of the “understanding ans supporting LGBT children and young people” kit and if it’s as nonsensical as the inclusion pack.
