Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Slight shift in position from my MP(?)

I gave up writing to my MP about gender ID ideology a while ago (after she told me that we clearly had different views about men in women's prisons and to stop contacting her about it). But recently sent the Sex Matters email about conversion therapy. The response I got recently seemed to indicate a slight shift in tone in that i) she acknowledged CASS, the importance of good mental health provision and many of the points made by Sex Matters and ii) the email was a 'Dear All' because apparently quite a number of her constituents had written to her and it was the most efficient way of responding to our concerns.

So I wanted to de-lurk and say that though it might feel a bit like pushing water up hill sometimes, it's worth carrying on. And how happy I am that I'm not the only one in her constituency. How many do you think 'Dear All' is?!

I wonder if it is starting to (slowly) dawn on the Labour Party that they are alienating women. Perhaps they have realised that calling women bigots and transphobes isn't going to make us believe that TWAW. A few LP MPs have changed their tone in recent weeks. They are still saying the same barmy shit but they are saying it in less confrontational way. I wonder if they have been told to be less antagonistic when communicating with women?

It seems as if Labour are panicking about how to row back from Starmer's "trans women are real women", Lammy's "men can grow a cervix" and Nandy's " let's put male rapists and paedophiles in cells with women - yay!"

I's not just women speaking out (they're used to ignoring women). It's men in increasing numbers. And lots of gay men as well. Plus the Cass reviews exposures. And increasingly furious parents.
They've backed themselves into a corner that's hard for them to get out of. Hopefully this is a sign that facts, reality, women's rights and child safeguarding might be noticed by them??

To be so hard of thinking means that the current crop of (Labour) politicians do not ever deserve to hold the reins of real power.

I can never forgive them for undervaluing free speech so much and being so willing to throw out women's sex-based rights and child safeguarding rules.
Tories also nearly as bad but slammed on the brakes at the last minute and always allowed different views among their MPs.

I have found this with my MP as well, I’m sure her replies have been a lot more moderate than when she parroted TWAW at the dispatch box. (Yes, my MP is Penny Mordaunt)

I suspect it's becoming impossible for MPs to ignore all the outrages (with the Cass Review, sport and criminals helping). Alongside all the desperate parents knowing that their children are caught up in a mass social contagion and desperately trying to keep them away from all the dangerous adults gaslighting them into wearing binders and taking puberty blockers.
There's only so long that MPs and society can ignore the mass abuse of children like this - and now the press are finally reporting it all openly, there's a limit as to how long they can sit on the fence for.

That’s because Penny is on leadership manoeuvres and is trying to play both sides. Allegedly.
