I'm sorry to hear that, Lucy. I was actually reading ROF, it being Friday an' all, and your thread went pouf before my eyes. From that it looked like you were objecting to being doxxed? But instead of dealing with it and risk upsetting the chaps they decided to chuck out the difficult woman with opinions?

Yes, there are some great people on there but also a lot of mouth breathers.

The reason I am banned is because I referred to a regular poster using his - very common - first name on the board.

I met this person a couple of times, 5 or 6 years ago. He's not a nice person. Unfortunately he knows my real name. Anyway, about a year and a half ago he spammed the board with my real name and what he believes to be my employer. The posts got taken down, but I emailed the site admins to complain and they didn't even reply. Then a couple of days later they were very active on the site deleting and banning people for using the C word. I commented asking why they were so concerned about that but couldn't care less about people being outed, and they blocked my account. I stayed away for a year. Since I re-registered, the same person has done the same thing at regular intervals, usually in the middle of bank holiday weekends when presumably he thinks the site admins will be slow to respond. Other posters - including some of the people I argue with about trans issues - are very good at hitting the report button and bumping other posts to hide the outy ones. But the site admins take fucking hours to delete the posts and ban the account.

Today he registered a new account with my first name in the title. I finally decided to retaliate and I said I might register one with his real name in. When that thread got pulled I posted another one saying, you've been warned, it's an eye for an eye now, so cut it out. When that got pulled I posted another one asking RoF Towers why posts containing just his first name got deleted in nanoseconds whereas they took hours to delete his ones containing far more identifying information. That was the one that got me banned.

I think I'll stick to Mumsnet!

The mods are pretty comfortable with men harassing women on that site. But the men are delicate flowers and must be protected of course.

Wow, that's despicable. BTW make sure your MN account doesn't have an identifiable email address linked to it. There have been "issues" in the past.

Hi Lucy! What you do at ROF is sterling work, so thanks for opening eyes. Those fuck nuggets are triggered by your ability to change minds and speak sense and that’s why they do their best to bring you down. Keep buggering on, its making a difference and common sense will prevail.
