RTE: No news!

The changes made to help restore women’s rights in swimming are widely reported, in the BBC, New York Times, etc. Except NOT in RTE! At least I can’t find anything about it on the App.
It seems that even though we pay the licence for RTE (the Irish national news and media service) we are not to be informed.

They probably don’t want to add fuel to the fire after the whole Liveline thing.

But yes it would be great if we could have the facts delivered to us in an impartial manner, that’s obviously too much to ask.

Thanks Genesis. However, I still can’t find it in the App (including in the Sports section), despite another swimming story there today. Hiding it in a section most people won’t see seems very deliberate!

I don't use the app but find the Sport section of the website to be somewhat muddled, making it difficult to find important stories among the fluff.

I just noticed that Morning Ireland had a brief report from Seán Ingle on this story today:

The Roscommon Herald had it on their website this morning, though it has been pushed down now.

Thanks Genesis. I still don’t see why it’s not in the App. Most people I know get their news from Phone Apps. There is a long article about a male swimmer in the App sports section, Daniel Wiffen, which I’m glad to see because I love swimming. But there is nothing about the decision to help restore women’s rights in swimming! Surely, that should be a lead story in the section, not left out completely.

I am very sensitive to the censorship of reporting on Women’s rights in Ireland. It still shocks me that I have to come here to find out what is happening to women imprisoned in Ireland.

Yes, it's quite jarring to realise how limited the reporting of anything related to the effect Self ID has on women is in Irish media. Like many Irish women I had no idea what was happening behind the scenes (Barbie Kardashian etc.) until very recently.

And even when they do report on it, everything is labelled as 'trans rights', no viewpoint or acknowledgement of women's needs, just spouting emotionally manipulative nonsense that reads like a college paper article and calling it news.
