Say ‘women’ not ‘people with ovaries’, Sajid Javid orders NHS as experts warn woke language puts patients at risk

-The NHS quietly removed terms like women from three cancer web pages.
-These are the pages for ovarian cancer, womb cancer and for cervical cancer.
-Collectively these cancers kill about 7,500 British women every year on average.

Sajid Javid is prepared to wage war against gender-free language after he demanded the NHS stop dropping the word 'women' from its online health advice.
.
The minister, 52, has repeatedly said he does not agree with the health service removing the word from its ovarian cancer guidance webpage.
--
NHS Digital bosses have been warned future changes to gendered language must be rubber-stamped by officials at Mr Javid's Department of Health, reports The Sun.

It's a step in the right direction, but the government need to stop just scratching the surface. They're firefighting little outbreaks, when they need to tackle the reason why it ignites in the first place.

And one of those reasons is that this mangling of language has been taught in schools. And has been for years.

There will be youngsters coming through the system who genuinely do not think they are girls or women. And therefore sex based language doesn't apply to them. They've been told to look out for 'people with ovaries', instead of women

If he's going to make sure that the NHS reverts to sex based language, he has to make sure that our children's relevant education is also sex based.

Just checked the NHS page on testicular cancer.

That affects men, apparently.

That affects men, apparently.

Really? It should obviously affect people with a prostate and a penis.

Yes, the only option and way forward I can see is legislation.

I'm loving the public statements being put out by those in power calling out his absolute fuckery and erasure of women, as if biological women are somehow a walking hate crime and a dirty word, instead of biological fact and part of the human race in our own right.

Women are not a body part, as the NHS thinks and we are not a bodily function, as sanitary product manufacturers seem to think.

Until women are given their identity back men and trans will now be referred to by me as people with a penis, people with testicles, and people who ejaculate.

The enablers and fact deniers are so keen for equality, I am now leveling up the language I use and playing then at their own game in every statement on every platform, regardless of context.

Well - probably people with testicles but I wouldn't like to split hairs ☺️

This ridiculous terminology is harmful to everyone.

Yesterday on the news was a male breast cancer survivor. Now most people think it is a female only cancer, it is not.

When people start seeing stuff like "men and women have periods" they understand that to be trans-inclusive language, but it's a boy who cried wolf scenario, so more people are likely to see "men and women get breast cancer" and think that that is trans-inclusive language too and that biological men don't get breast cancer.

The thing about words like penis owners - what if the penis isn’t attached to them? I might own a penis, perhaps one saved from a family pet, and therefore consider myself a penis haver or owner but as i am not a man I won’t be at risk for the relevant diseases.

On that basis, you might have a jar of ovaries.

I think letters at this moment are a good idea. We seem to be reaching a tipping point.

I know that MPs don't reply to people who are not their own constituents but can you write directly to a minister in the person's capacity as a department head? Do ministers reply if directly addressed at his or her department rather than the House of Commons? Or are we better just writing to our own MPs (mine is useless and just sits on the fence)?

Anyone can write to Government Departments, I do it regularly and mark it for the attention of the person you wish to address
