I thought posters here might find this video interesting. I found it on the Women's Declaration International YouTube channel. Dr Gail Dines is a lecturer in Sociology and Women's Studies, her speciality is porn from a feminist perspective.
The video gallops through an overview of Marxism, capitalism, radical feminism liberal feminism, neo-liberal feminism, patriarchy, intersectionality and a host of other things but focusses on porn. The work of lots of notable feminists is discussed or referenced, she's a big fan of Dworkin. Some descriptions of porn are graphic and difficult to listen but the reality of some aspects of the porn industry are eye opening. The picture she paints for women in the future is quite bleak. She is very passionate about her subject and very engaging, I could have listened to her for hours. It gave me quite a lot of food for thought so I'm going to listen to it again.
I was glad she makes such a clear distinction between empowerment and liberation, equality has never been an aim of radical feminism. As Greer pointed out, "equality is a profoundly conservative aim". The thread title becomes clear towards the end of the video. It's about an hour long and although she presents slides I was listening, rather than watching, as I did other things.
