Gender identity

There is a fairly innocuous survey being asked my place of work asking for travel habits after the pandemic.

One of the questions is 'what gender do you identify with?' I don't identify as a gender, I reject the idea that I, personally, have one. Normally I would just put 'other' and go along my merry way as outing myself as a gender ideology sceptic at work is... potentially dangerous for my career but I'm so pissed off. There is no question about what sex you are at all.

Do I email back and say something? If I don't, if no-one does, then this stuff keeps happening and those writing this drivel think that the majority are ok with it. I'm not ok with it, I get less and less ok with it as time passes.

What would you do?

During the Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre tribunal this week it was suggested several times that GI is not WORIADS. (I think the evidence given in that case showed it doesn't meet the cogency test, and definitely raised the question of whether it is compatible with the rights of others.)

It wasn't the focus of the case, so I doubt we'll get a ruling on that specific point, but it will be interesting to see whether the judge addresses it in the discussion part of the judgement.
