The findings are horrifying. Probably the same plastics are inside all non-pregnant people, too.
I know this of no importance compared to the above sentence, but I hate that language. It dehumanises, even in this neutralised form, because it erases which types of 'people' they are writing about.
Wonder if the Independent would do a men's fashion article about facial grooming and in it include something like this:
"This year the fashion is for beards, but some people still prefer a clean-shaved chin. The people who like their moustache are out of luck."
