I'm not sure what to say, really. Except it seems to be a thing:

www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-10774519/Fictosexual-man-married-HOLOGRAM-no-longer-speak-wife-software-glitch.html

"The idea of marrying a hologram may sound like the plot of the latest episode of Black Mirror.
But it became a reality in , when a 'fictosexual' man married a virtual reality hologram during a ceremony in Tokyo.
Akihiko Kondo, 35, spent ¥2 million (£12,222) on a formal ceremony at a Tokyo hall to Hatsune Miku, an animated 16-year-old hologram with saucer eyes and lengthy aquamarine pigtails.
But despite thinking he could 'be with her forever', Mr Kondo has been left devastated, after the expiration of her software meant he could no longer speak to his wife."

It’s always been 18 in England and wakes has it not? That’s why Gretna green exists…

It was 16 with parental permission in England, Gretna was for 16 and 17 year olds to marry without parental permission.

This chap isn't legally married, the company who wrote the software printed him a "certificate" themselves. It's role play nonsense, should be a private fetish thing. No need for the rest of us to find out about this man's proclivities.

Why is this on this board?

This man clearly has mental health issues. It has nothing to do with feminism

Bless him. As autistic as can be.

We know our own.

Bless him? A man who is into teenagers?

From the article:

His holographic wife woke him up each morning and sent him off to his job as an administrator at a school.

It’s just been raised to 18 in England & Wales, so maybe Nicola Sturgeon needs a nudge to catch up?

There's no call for an alteration whether from a political perspective or a law reform perspective.

The Scottish Law Commission has Aspects of Family Law as one of its projects but this isn't an aspect it's considering.

Traditionally Scots Law always gave under 18s more autonomy than English law did. Having extended the franchise to 16 year olds it will be quite difficult to raise the marriage age.

So I guess our government thinks is ok too?

Well the Scottish Government is beyond hope, I'd half expect them to go "she's 16, she's too old for you!" like in Borat 2.

This article gives more background, seems like he is neurodiverse and being bullied at work, so I have more sympathy for him but fully agree with the unsettling appearance of these amines, always very young and in short skirts and stockings, so not with the marriage part. Also how does it stand legally? If they divorced would he have to pay maintenance (or child support given her appearance)?

I'd be more concerned about paying her electricity bill.

It fairness I think the majority of characters that autistic people are drawn to appear childlike.

However I do not believe this is a sexual thing, it is that autistic people are able to 'read' and understand facial expressions when a character has eyes that are large and out of proportion to the simple and clearly defined nose, ears and mouth. This automatically makes the character appear young or even baby like.

This explains why anime, manga, emojis and even Thomas the Tank Engine are so popular with those on the autistic spectrum.

Re marriage ages in Scotland
33 in 2019. In 2016, in England and Wales, 179 people aged 16 to 17 entered marriage, out of nearly half a million who got married that year. I found, but have now lost , later figures for England and Wales showing around 140. So not huge figures in either jurisdiction.

However very roughly Scotland's population is a tenth of England and Wales so Scotland's rate per population is more than twice E&W's.

he's attracted to 16yo's and works in a school. I think it's sinister.

You can just imagine his parents’ vanishing hopes of any grandchildren in this scenario.

Women are not required to perform reproductive labour to create grandchildren anyway.
