"The new tool will provide a better understanding of the female anatomy and help to prevent women getting incorrectly diagnosed. It is currently being used to teach first year medical students at Brighton and Sussex Medical School."

BBC seem happy to refer to females without the usual caveats 🤔

Brighton and Sussex university? Does the model have a penis and a prostrate?

Fantastic.

Shame it took so long though.

MrsWooster · 02/05/2022 13:30

2022 before it occurred to them that this might be a good idea. Ffs.

mrshoho · 02/05/2022 13:34

the cynic in me is half wondering was this pushed through by trans professionals to help them better understand how to become a real woman.

WallaceinAnderland · 02/05/2022 13:38

I was shocked to read that article tbh. I know women are always an afterthought but how could it take this long to get such basic medical training right. I am absolutely floored over this, it can't be right surely? So they've been teaching midwifery with male pelvises have they? Nah, I don't believe it.

OnceAgainWithFeeling · 02/05/2022 13:41

Didn’t medical students routinely get their education on female biology whilst said subjects were unconscious for other reasons…..?

PriamFarrl · 02/05/2022 13:41

So what have they been doing before this? Just looking at a male body and saying that women’s body’s are like this but without willies? It’s no bloody wonder that women’s health is an afterthought if this is news worthy.
