A warning about 'gendered words' in a health article about women...

I was researching symptoms of ADHD in women, and this little gem popped up on the top of an article:

Gendered words are used throughout this article to refer to people who identify as female and have the typical reproductive organs of a cisgender female. We recognize that some people who identify as female do not have the same anatomy as that depicted in this article.

Seriously? Just Fuck off! This is on a health website, albeit I think a US based one, but still so infuriating - can they really not have anything relating to women without qualifying it with this bullshit!?

Why are there "typical organs" for "cisgender females"? What can be the reason for this mysterious correlation. Someone needs to conduct a research project!

Surely, not that I agree with any of it, it should say or have the typical ….
you cant identify a cervix/uterus.

I think they are trying to pacify everyone and its not working because medicine IS different if your born female in medicine it absolutely matters what genitals you were born with everyone needs to get over themselves and accept that

I tried to explain to my daughter if she went in to the hospital having a heart attack it might not be recognised because she was born female and it presents different if however her transgender (m-f) friend went in they would display "typical" symptoms and get treated faster its stupid that men is the default and now these muddying of the waters is going to make it worse because now they will have "women" presenting with classic symptoms "women" sailing through there (non existing) menopause

The list goes on

Yup, as a woman with ADHD my symptoms are so much worse for at least one week of the month, when oestrogen levels are lowest. So there's fuck all chance of that affecting someone who just identified as female. And if you're female identifying as a dude you can't identify out of it either.

The research to help women with ADHD has barely started, as before it was all about the default male. A lot of pushing has been required to get it even off the ground, because meh, women. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I listen to and read a lot of ADHD related 'content' and there are people trying to make specific podcasts for women who have these stupid disclaimers about gender and "sorry if I mess it up I'm still learning".

Wtf. Women have a different experience for so many reasons and it's not how they fuckin identify.

<End rant>

You think that's bad, have a read of this dozy

Bloody hell, that's disgusting. The dehumanising language just goes on and on...

Not only dehumanizing, it's also completely confusing. "Menschen mit kurzer Harnröhre" sounds so much like Harnröhrenverkürzung (Hypospadie) that I bet a lot of people think this is about boys with this condition.
