Peyton Thomas tells us on Twitter that the author of Little Women was transgender. twitter.com/peytonology/status/1516612189687324673

The current posthumous transitioning of many historical role models for women (Hathshepsut, Joan of Arc, Rosa Bonheur, Daphne du Maurier etc.) naturally follows once we adopt the gender identity ideology where 'woman' is re-defined as someone who is comfortable with the gender roles and norms the society she lives in has assigned the female sex.

So which famous women in history are we bog-standard women allowed to keep as role models under this new definition?

I saw this on Facebook yesterday and found it hugely offensive. Alcott’s pronouns are being assumed; in life she used “she” and I find it offensive that someone would change that without her consent after her death. But the thing I found most upsetting was that this person felt free to openly post this nonsense while I, who think it’s wrong, don’t dare to comment on it and voice my disagreement.

I haven't read Thomas' 'article', so can't comment specifically on that.

However, I have read LMA's 'Work'. I defy anyone to read that, and be unable to see she is a feminist through and through. For her time, she was very much a RadFem.

When I was younger, I desperately wanted to be a boy, to the point I experimented with peeing standing up. This was purely as I saw how much more freedom my older brother had, compared to me. He seemed to have complete freedom of association & movement, whereas I was only allowed to associate with a small list of approved people in approved places. It was no better at home. Although we lived on a farm, I was not permitted to leave the house alone. This wasn't that long ago, 80s-90s.

Left home as soon as I could (for many other reasons as well), but still struggle at times.

Forgot to say, I have not & don't identify in any way as a man. I do have many stereotypically male interests, but that doesn't make me a man.

Can I add Gentleman Jack herself, Anne Lister to the list please. There has been a lot of specualtion about her being trans since the surge in interest following the TV show. To be fair though, most of what I have read does add the caveat that nobody can know, what with her being dead n' all.
