Drag queen story time in Haringey Libraries

Why are adult men being invited into Haringey libraries, this weekend, to read to young children ? How is a man dressed in a lurid, grotesque parody of a woman, a role model ? For what ? It can’t be inclusiveness, Drag-queens, like strippers and pornstars do not need protecting.

Young children should not be influenced into believing that sex and gender are interchangeable, this promotes harmful sexist tropes. They do not need to be confused by incomprehensible and nonsensical practices for the amusement of adults.

Please watch the video link above. It’s a 30 minute long programme and it will explain the issue.

[quote Liveliferun]Abhannmor I’ve done the opposite and not moved to Ireland because there are no single sex protections in place anymore. All I hear from family and friends is how terrified people are about speaking out. Interested to hear if you think things are better than what I’ve heard. The thing is that we here in England can protest events like the one above with a lesser prospect of being attacked for being anti woke.

For example the ARC (abortion rights campaign) in Ireland actively targets people/publications who raise concerns about gender ideology.
Here’s an example:

For clarity ...I'm in a very rural place. Nobody I know here has heard of TENI , Stonewall or Mermaids. But there was consternation in my local when I showed a photo of Lauren Hubbard. Of course the downside here is its smallness . If you get on the wrong side of people on the "left" or in the various Arts and charities things can get nasty very fast. Witness the attempts by some of Irelands most privileged and well connected women to silence and cancel Frankie Gaffney , a working class writer who critiqued ID politics. Their open letter Cop on Comrades was signed by over 200 women . Some of whom I know and used to respect. Time and events have proved Gaffney correct. Now having said all that : there is zero chance of Drag Queen Story Time happening in my library. There are the unis and the TV studios. And then there is the concrete reality of rural Ireland, full of farmers of both sexes who understand biology very well .
