"RCOG said patients were consistently deprioritised and overlooked"

Currently there are 456,838 women on the gynaecology waiting list in England (not possible to give direct comparisons with Scotland and Wales as they don't know what a women is)

"RCOG president said "There is an element of gender bias in the system. I don't think believe that we are listening to the voices of women as well as we should be."

Amazed the BBC managed to use 'women' in the article. Perhaps they spotted an issue with referring to individuals waiting for a hysterectomy as 'people with a uterus'?

Just heard the r4 news reporting this. The woman they interviewed used 'people'instead of women throughout. Angry

Lovelyricepudding · 04/04/2022 14:23

What sort of people did she think this affected? Angry

How could there be a gender bias, then? If it's 'people' who are affected, not women?

This is why the new erasure of all words having to do with our biological sex matters. It will become impossible to address sexism when its victims are going to be called just generic people.

Agreed and it's intentional. You can not talk about the source of your oppression if you can not name or describe it.

Can't think of better evidence of institutional misogyny, although would normally hesitate to use the terms 'institutional' or 'misogyny'. Are there any women's organisations willing to take NHS to court for this, a la GLD with delays to trans healthcare? Probably not, we normal women are just not special enough Sad

LK1972 · 04/04/2022 19:11

Sorry, GLP

Lovelyricepudding · 04/04/2022 20:16

May be not a la GLP, surely we would want it to be successful? Wink
