This thread by Dr Sheree Bekker on Twitter - where do you even start? Why do women do this?

@InvisibleDragon

Thanks for starting a thread on this. Someone I know IRL and who has a very senior university job and a degree in biology "liked" it.

I'm utterly hacked off about it. Both that this idiotic drivel has got so much traction and that someone who is supposed to have a brain finds it so easy to just switch off to avoid the cognitive dissonance.

That’s what continues to confound me - the seemingly intelligent women going along with it. So either I’m questioning their intelligence, or their motives. I do understand keeping quiet, because we’ve seen how women pay for their pesky views. But actively endorsing it?

That really was drivel! Exhibit A indeed!

I despair

1 Given those roles (particularly the latter), I should think she's obliged to adopt such perspectives. As ever, I wonder about Nolan principles and the values of the NHS constitution.

2 Given those roles, I wonder what this does to the public understanding of science and raising the level of public discussion.

She is also accepting Doctoral students…

Isn’t Bath where that bloke was prevented from carrying out interesting sounding and important research on detransitioners three or so years back.

where is the problem? I thought this was an interesting thread. The husband pointed out that if more money went into women's sport (from an early age), the top performing women would be a lot closer to the men.

So women just aren't trying hard enough?
Not even in places like Russia and China where they hothouse children from being 3-4 years old with their entire life being focused on being the best at any given sport? Their life is funded and they are trained by the best coaches with the best equipment.
What exactly would extra money do?

It's just easier to blame women than it is to accept that men are cheating to get into women's sport.
