I saw this. But, of course, being the ABC they then couldn’t bring themselves to mention the obvious connection. That all these issues are also important in discussing male inclusion in female sport. I no longer have faith in the ABC to report openly and without bias on any trans issues now. And as a national news service it really needs to.
We mention it in threads about female sport needing protection here on MN all the time. It does tend to stump a few male posters (even some transitioned male posters) who are keen to try and make out that they have no advantage at all. They always forget menstrual cycles, and menopause included in that.
There is a growing bank of research out there. Even down to the changes in women and girl’s connective tissue during the menstrual cycle making injury an increased risk.
I look forward to seeing Dr Larsen’s research. She is absolutely right about the bias in research. I notice a professor who wrote an article about medical studies in general needing to include females this week was quickly removed.
