What I never see in these ‘isn’t it awful, look what might happen’ stories is any suggestion on how matters should be dealt with differently if trans people are to continue to be permitted to live with dignity.
We were discussing the safety for a transgender person in a medical situation. The people treating that person need to know whether the person is male or female for reasons already explained on this thread. What prevents that person from living 'with dignity' if they disclose this information to the doctors and nurses who are treating them? Or if they discover this information from their medical records (which might be the case if the patient is unconscious).
Why do you think it's the job of women to suggest 'how matters should be dealt with differently' for the benefit of transgender people of both sexes? When you chose to make major modifications to your body in this way you should have been aware that this might make your life more difficult in some ways, since society has always been organised around the fact that there are two sexes and people can't change sex. I don't understand why you think it's the job of women to help you to navigate these conventions and suggest ways to help you to fit in. We're not your mother.
