Scouting Australia is one of the most toxic organisations I've ever had the misfortune to be mixed up with. None of this surprises me, but I would be extremely surprised if anything changed in the next 10 years.

None of it is about the kids, it's all about the adults and power. The revolting incidences that were swept under the carpet, or completely denied in a "well it's he said/she said" was like something out of a 70s nightmare.

An organisation set up to support and encourage girls in a patriarchal society is suddenly endorsing the exact opposite. Only allowing acceptance based on 'femininity'.

That's what the ideology stands for. Boys can come and be treated as special if they're feminine enough, but girls must fuck off if they're too masculine.

It's now a hot house for promoting sexism.

Even worse, when we moved to the UK, my very typical Aussie 10 yr old was constantly subject to ‘ew! You like x stuff’ and had to defend their interests. Which in Sydney were completely unremarkable and in fact, many friends were the same. In London, were worthy of shame and derogation apparently amongst some girls. Absolutely destructive in an anxious child trying to make friends.

So, to see GG Australia take this direction is worrying on so many layers.

It's utterly ingrained. Just to different degrees.

Which is why I sincerely believe that the upside to this entire shit show is the number of feminists it's creating.

Anyone who actually listens to why transgenderism is harmful to women gets an instant and powerful glimpse of what feminism is about, and why.

You can't talk about damaging stereotypes, without explaining what they're based on and how they benefit men.
