Gender Identity, Fertility, Sex

Just been thinking about some of the issues if we discount sex, not sure if they are valid points or not.

When I was a teen, there was always the pressure from boys to have sex. It would worry me that parents or schools that conflate sex and gender many not use clear and procise language and some girls may give in to pressure to have sex if they believe they can't become pregnant by someone who identifies as a woman. Do you think that's a likely scenario? Or is it more complex?

What about Fertility rates? If sex no longer matters and the use of words associated with someone's sex becomes heavily policed, along with being labelled as 'x'phobic if you discount partners based on biology, are we just going to confuse and cancel ourselves out of existence?

I see why you're worried about sex education.

I'm not personally convinced that gender ideology will have children growing up thinking you can't get pregnant if the penis belongs to a person who identifies as a woman.

It's worse than that.
Gender ideology off the top of my head:

You have people.

Some people have a penis some have a vag, either of these people can be either women or men, and people with a penis can get people with a vag pregnant. The words "woman" and "man" are entirely divorced from biological function. They Essentially have no meaning unless you invoke ridiculous outdated stereotypes around masculinity and femininity.

Meanwhile, It's impossible to tell who has a penis or a vag without humiliating genital inspections, because apparently humans don't seem to have basic recognition ability anymore since about year 2019.

All of this gaslighting is designed so that people with a penis can gain access to women's personal space.

It's not designed so that no one knows who can get pregnant, so long as you refrain from using phrases like "women" or "men" when describing the process.

"It's not designed so that no one knows who can get pregnant, so long as you refrain from using phrases like "women" or "men" when describing the process."

I'm not so sure. For starters, it doesn't have to be 'designed' to have a particular result. It can be the inevitable effect from lots of disparate uncoordinated inputs.

As adults we know who gets pregnant, but we grew up in a time when there was nobody telling you any different. Children growing up now - they've got all sorts of people telling you different, and those people telling you that boys can be girls are people they've been told to trust, like teachers. Children believe in Santa and the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny. They believe what they're told by adults, until they're in a position to see that it just isn't so for themselves.

But some things you're told stick with you. That's how religions work, surely?

There is anecdotal evidence - discount it if you will - that small children are being told that girls can be boys, and that teenagers believe that taking cross-sex hormones will actually change your sex. Some think males will be able to have babies if they're on oestrogen. I think most of them saying that are trying to be kind / not be cancelled by their peer group, but inevitably some will take it literally.

I think that's an entirely possible scenario. I can remember some thinking they couldn't get pregnant if they did it standing up! Urban myths abound, I see no reason why this reason-you-won't-get-pregnant would not be deployed by a teenaged boy.

The constant conflation of intersex with trans could easily cause this, I think. There’s a massive push to pretend that people with gender identities are somehow physically not the sex they are.

Mine did. She assumed that ‘medical science’ or maybe specifically gene editing technology had actually advanced that far; after all, why else would they be being told that people can change sex?

She’s honestly not stupid - and biology was one of her better subjects at GCSE. She’s just trusting of what she was told.

We have had to be quite explicit about what does and does not change.

Google 'can men get pregnant'. First result, the one that pops up in the banner. FFS.

This current thread provides examples of the mental gymnastics and gaslighting of people who prioritise gender identity over sex.

Gender identity ideology comes out of queer theory, the sole purpose of which is to celebrate transgressions and the breaking of boundaries (such as women only spaces and the age of consent for sex). We're seeing the consequences for women now. It's not some series of coincidence.

I read of a trans man who thought they couldn't be raped. They were mistaken.

Young lesbians are being told that they’re transphobic if they refuse to have relationships with penis owners who also identify as lesbian.

It was precisely this - being told by my highly intelligent and otherwise sensible secondary school pupils that "you can take a pill to change your sex" and "men can have babies now" - that first alerted me to what was going on in my own school.
