Dining across the divide - would you take part? Guardian article

I was reading this article

www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2022/feb/10/dining-across-the-divide-anti-abortion-pro-choice

And was a bit upset to see gender critical views casually lumped with anti abortion and homophobic views by the annoyingly patronising bloke. The woman seemed a much nicer person!

It would be great to have someone (a woman!) do this article to represent the majority sane gender critical viewpoint. I hovered over the 'would you do this?' button because I'd like to do it myself
but I'm a bit scared to for fear of reprisals. I'm a doctor who works with children and came into this cos have been professionally worried but having seen the furore on the Physicians Mums Facebook group if anyone ever dares say anything remotely GC, I don't think other doctors would support me. Plus I'd be worried they'd ask me a question that I couldn't immediately answer or that I would come across insensitively when trying to answer and would upset people.

Any brave feminists out there who might be up for it?

I’ve wondered about this too - really don’t feel I could because of the implications at work but someone absolutely needs to! Actually it was briefly referenced in last week’s one, with a woman bringing up single sex spaces etc and getting annoyed with the man for not really engaging with the issues.

Jane Clare Jones, Helen Joyce, Maya Forstater, Allison Bailey, Sonia Appleby, Pragna Patel, Joanna Cherry—so many fabulous women who would be excellent for this.

On the issue of sports in particularly, Emma Hilton, Ross Tucker, Colin Wright, Daley Thompson, Sharron Davies, Linda Blade.

I would like to see this happen.

I find this series quite interesting, and I think there is a ‘narcissism of small differences’ thing going on here. The two diners are so completely at odds with each other that they have to search for the common ground/humanity in order to tolerate spending time together. Hence the comment about finding him a nice guy because he was smiling.

Whereas I imagine that Josie and I would agree on pretty much everything ethics-wise except the trans issue - and I’d be far closer to her than this guy - and those differences between us would spark disappointment and frustration.

Just looking and saw this one - difficulty is the guy she was talking to doesn’t seem interested in anything that doesn’t directly impact him (apart from immigration!):

I think Lucy Masoud would be great.
