I guess that's us told then. And obviously a man with a past such as his has great authority on the dangers of men in women's spaces... 🙄

@Spitspotsput

Who the friggin banana is Marilyn?
Google is your friend here - long running feud
ClaudiusTheGod · 07/01/2022 21:42

Today 21:25 Spitspotsput

Who the friggin banana is Marilyn?

Now you’re just making me feel old.

Marilyn is from a time when people could dress like the opposite sex without thinking that this meant that they WERE the opposite sex.

LynetteScavo · 07/01/2022 21:45

Boy George has always been a wanker

BelindaBumcrack · 07/01/2022 21:47

I always loved Marilyn. Even as a straight woman I found Marilyn very attractive. He was sexy and feminine and masculine and I liked it!! And I still do. I follow him on Twitter and he is fab. He was one of the original gender non-conforming people back in the 1980s and really doesn't put up with the current gender nonsense!!

I also found Tim Curry incredibly attractive and sexy as Frankenfurter in Rocky Horror. I must be weird...

But Boy George? No.

MrsWooster · 07/01/2022 21:53

Fuck a duck, Marilyn’s tweets! I posted after I’d only seen the first one but the full thread is smokin’!!!!!

EarthSight · 07/01/2022 21:55

The Goddess energy comment is perfectly in alignment with what many think of this ideology - that it's a religious and spiritual one.

KittenKong · 07/01/2022 21:56

Marilyn just doesn’t give a monkeys - he isn’t playing the game is he?

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 07/01/2022 22:00

I'm off to follow Marilyn .

wonderstuff · 07/01/2022 22:43

PMSL @ Boy George being a source of critical thinking. He has absolute no skin in the game here and he’s not exactly a shining beacon of empathy is he.

Appledrop · 07/01/2022 22:48

OH and I have just given Marilyn a follow. Fantastic. Man George can go and do one!!

Lordamighty · 07/01/2022 23:24

Marilyn is on fire 🔥 🔥 🔥

sweetbellyhigh · 07/01/2022 23:53

Boy George has always been a brat and encouraged misogyny.

ChrisAndJonty · 08/01/2022 07:02

Marilyn is SO Magdalene!!!!!

Mummyoflittledragon · 08/01/2022 07:32

There was another thread on this subject a couple of days ago. Marilyn rocks!… even if I didn’t like the music much.

pengu · 08/01/2022 07:35

Goddess energy? Wtf is that

Slothtoes · 08/01/2022 08:19

It’s just so rude and cravenly politically man-pleasing of any man to dismiss women’s concerns about how male gender identity politics affects us. This forcible colonisation by men of women’s feelings, spaces and systems just doesn’t affect any man directly. It never will. Because biology’s real and always will be. Male physical advantage is real and always will be.

Imagine going up to another group of people who can say with clear evidence that they’re being made fearful for their safety, privacy, dignity in public, for their ability to remain employed, for their ability retain their freedom of speech and their freedom of association with their community of likeminded others, for their ability to form romantic and sexual relationships with whomever they wish to or don’t, that they’re having their awards, opportunities and safe spaces actively removed from them, and that the state in which they live is colluding and compounding this oppression by actively promoting it in schools, hospitals and prisons, and that none of this is being properly democratically debated or acknowledged…. and then imagine trivialising or undermining what this group have to say about their experiences? When you know their issues can never affect you?

People who think they’re on the right side of history would be calling up Amnesty and Liberty right away and fundraising for court cases and alerting the media and raising the alarm on their social media channels, to support this oppressed group wouldn’t they. They’d be drawing posters and organising demonstrations and telling their kids and friends and everyone else who’d listen how awful it is. Rightly so.

Yet when it’s women being actively oppressed… and when women are resisting oppression in the form of enforcement of male sexual rights over women and children ..
well then suddenly it is respectable and even progressive to tell women just to shut up and take whatever is coming to them. Hmm
Which is straight up service to the patriarchy and it’s very disappointing to see anyone, male or female, engaging in it.

The ‘women shut up and take it’ attitude just underlines yet again how very different the male and female experience is, and how women will always need to advocate for ourselves. This gendered attitude which is used to present women as ‘less than’ men is just plain old sexism, the absolute opposite of progressive politics. It stinks. It’s everywhere.

SirChenjins · 08/01/2022 10:18

Very well said @Slothtoes

LaVidaJoker · 08/01/2022 10:21

Ironic that critical thinkers can stick around when he's just demonstrated he isn't blessed with critical thinking!

Psuedoshoes · 08/01/2022 10:32

I'm just catching up on the tweets... Marilyn!! Star Star Star

Well it’s turned into a cat fight now. It’s just not a fair fight (very funny though).

Yep, I think most of what Boy George says proves he's not a critical thinker.

Wasn't it only around six months ago he was criticising the trans community for their insistence upon pronouns? I don't even he knows what his own opinions are..
