His last few tweets are just stupid. Actually wilfully stupid.

Oh my - he has gone full on now. Is he looking to get back on the telly or something? He is absolutely spouting on twitter.

George is not totally onboard with gender ideology like most older gay people. So he has said a bunch of wrongthink things. Like he is not into the crazy labeling system. He has been attacked over it. Hence he is regarded as being anti-trans. So like a lot of people he is negotiating his status in a world where his existence and thinking is transgressive. Being attacked by young qs has him confused and aggressive.

So as a genderbending icon his history is positive - as an individual he is messed up, criminal and guess what it is easier to get a few points by being anti JKR in his circles.

It is far from impossible he may flip out at some point and realise genderism aims to destroy him and swap sides. I think he will only do that when the TRAs are really starting to implode.

Yes about 2 hours ago so he has joined in.

Always a shock to find certain people have the Shingami Eyes app which tells you who to disagree with without having to think for yourself or consider people as individuals with a differing nuanced opinions on a variety of subjects. An app which allows you to take the thought out of your judgement means your judgment is often thoughtless.

I know Marylin can be very sensible and honest on this issue, not sure about Boy George's take, I was put off him by his appearances in some reality show or other (can't recall which) but he didn't come across well at all. I think there are a lot of people recently who are using this issue as a cheap replacement for a PR consultant.

That second tweet of Boy George's (posted while I was typing) is the kind of thing that really bothers me, specifically .

Trans people are not a threat to women or female spaces.

Oh. So George knows ALL trans women and has performed a global risk assessment? Wonderful, can we have the evidence? Aside from which it isn't even the 'transness' of people that is the issue, and I'm tired of saying this (as I'm sure many here are) this is about MALES in female spaces, gender identity does not alter male patterns of violence and in any case self ID means there are likely to be people capitalising on policies which allow them access to women who are using the notion of gender and pretending otherwise is ridiculously naive and frankly, ignorant. It flies in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary much of which is collated by very intelligent women on this very site so if people are interested you don't have far to look for this evidence.

I prefer to remember him in his glory days. People would point him out in the Bell in Kings Cross. You could check out his clothes and hair / make up . Or watch Jimmy Somerville dancing. Innocent times.

I do wonder if boy George, or anyone who posts on twitter on this subject, from jess Philips to wonder woman to oswald Parton, ever looks at their replies.

Because the replies are full of intelligent counter points, with evidence, articles, data..... and if you still agree with gender ideology then at least you could tell that the people who do aren't horrible bigots but rather looking at the evidence. If boy George were reading through his replies surely he would see there is good reason to be wary of men in women's spaces? Isn't it worth trying to answer some of the concerns of people who have replied?

And then, he has posted a picture of himself in full make up and costume with just one word 'BLOKE'.

And yes! George, yes! That's EXACTLY it, wear make up, dresses, jewellery, you are still a BLOKE..... almost as though he does not quite understand what the argument is....

I said that if you showed that picture to a load of kids they would not agree, they would say 'trans.' and if they want to copy him, or if they feel they are like him, that means puberty blockers, cross sex hormones and surgery. How does he feel about that?

Goth punk electronic pop hip hop rock metal dance you name it. And looking at old music videos mostly it was so much less serious, more fun. There was smiling! For instance.
