Forced use of pronoun badge?

Need some advice before I reply to an email...

I am an undergrad on a health related university course - ordering uniform, we now have 'my name is' badges...which also has 'my pronouns are' written on too.

There was no other option but to select 'she/her he/him etc so I left it unselected.
I've just received an 'urgent' email stating that I DO have to select a pronoun to use and which one would I like, I'm pretty sure that this isn't enforceable by law, but also if I don't choose to display my pronouns will I be viewed as not being 'inclusive' or 'phobic' etc, which I don't want to labelled with as 1st year student Angry

Any advice please?

TIA

Well done, I hope that's an end to it.

I don't know what will be the best way forward if they don't leave it there, but it might be worth contacting Sex Matters, or an organisation called Counterweight which helps people experiencing woke overreach in their organisations.

On previous threads about pronouns here you will find lots if arguments for why women here don't want to be forced to announce them. One is 'stereotype threat' if you search for that. We have spent decades trying to be allowed to be a professional first, a doctor, not a lady doctor etc. But now you're expected to write the fact you're female across your front? Its all very well for the big He/Him.

From a post on an old thread (about putting pronouns in online bio's but I think it's still relevant):

"Requiring you to announce you're of the sex our society treats as inferior is requiring you to open yourself up to sexist discrimination, to disadvantage yourself, and for whom?"

Go for she/her

Then when the badge arrives tell them it's now he/him and ask them to reprint

Following week, change it to something else.

Its going to end up really costing them having to reprint new badges but it can't be helped if your gender is so fluid Wink

Good luck OP. What an unnecessary stressor.
