As someone who heard parts of the original complaint, was it true that these two complainents said some ribbons looked threatening and scared them?

One of the most outrageous things about this whole situation was that Marion was not told the charges against her until very late in the day, I believe it wasn’t until her first appearance in court. How can a person decide whether to plead guilty or not guilty if you don’t know what you are accused of?

It has still not been clearly reported anywhere what exactly they were. Hopefully if the case is formally abandoned (at present it is just stayed) then the full detail will come out.

From the reports in the public domain I understand one of the complaint was about the photo of the suffragette ribbon, which mentioned one of the complainants’ place of work, so he was able to allege that it was a threat.

The other charges seemed to relate to the tweets Marion made about one of the police officers who came to arrest her and suggested that her children could be taken into care - i.e things that happened after the initial complaint was made. I wasn’t aware that naming a police officer was against the law, and I hope that we will hear the full story as soon as the law permits.

Nationalism + gender identity ideology makes for an especially toxic combination. Absolute moral certainty with anyone not completely on board being fair game.

People like Spear are one of the many reasons I have never supported and never will support separatism.

Kirsty Blackman also described the LGB Alliance conference as a "hate conference". Hardly befitting conduct of a sitting MP to castigate the UK's only charity formed on the basis of sexual orientation.
It's astounding that a sitting MP can label a charity based on protected characteristics a hate organisation. Imagine if she was behaving the same way to a religious group or a disability charity - hope the Speaker and Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards look into her behaviour, as I'm sure it breaches Nolan Principles, and it doesn't look like the SNP are capable of ensuring their MP's, Councillors, or indeed, Researchers live up to standards that don't bring Parliament into disrepute.

I wish I could say I was shocked, I'm disappointed that they continue to be so crass, but I'm no longer shocked. They act like they are untouchable.
In fact I'd quite like to see an entire Private Eye special edition on the SNP. I think it would certainly fill the Rotten Boroughs section at least.

Yes, it was mentioned on BBC Scotland yesterday or the day before, that the two complainants were David Paisley and Rhiannon Spear. Hope they are pleased with themselves now.
