What do you think of this film (aimed at kids)

What do you think of this short film?

It’s aimed at young children and adolescents
Follow the tweet link and a Vimeo film appears. I was pretty disturbed by some of this content - the first eg is encouraging girls NOT to ask/expect privacy in changing rooms (against the Equality Act 2010) and instead girls should be nice and alliw male bodies in to change with them.
It’s part funded by the NHS in Manchester.

Its a lesson in female socialisation, isn't it. I don't think its a good lesson for girls, or that the NHS should have been involved.
But I'm not surprised.

FloatOn · 27/10/2021 12:46

What a load of nonsense, its basically saying guilt trip and indoctrinate anyone who doesn't bow down to the gender woo.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 27/10/2021 12:46

Oh FFS. It starts out badly with an anecdote about a shop not allowing transpeople to use their changing rooms. Pretty sure, it would actually have been that the shop required transpeople to use those for their sex.

If the rest is as deliberately misleading I can't be arsed watching it.

MinervaBoudicca · 27/10/2021 13:29

It’s all about telling young girls they are not entitled to boundaries

The Proud Trust are listed on the SSA website. Best avoided.

Very depressing that it has been partly funded by the NHS.

The Proud Trust is behind the Dice Game - the game that teaches children about anal sex

Especially when they're always complaining about being under funded, yet seem to have the money to put towards bullshit like this!

Queenoftheashes · 27/10/2021 13:46

Load of shite. And they definitely seem to be conflating single sex changing rooms with “we don’t want your kind ere”

YetAnotherSpartacus · 27/10/2021 14:07

Yeah, a load of manipulative and emotive shite.

I would think the NHS is on a bit of a sticky wicket publishing a film whining about a GP not prescribing cross sex hormones to an autistic 18 year old because they say they want them.

Yes - I found that v worrying too. There is zero mention in any of the examples given that therapy can be helpful for treating gender dysphoria.

It’s all affirm, affirm, affirm.
Zero mention of desistence or detransition either.

It’s not a balanced approach to helping young people or their families.

Particularly publishing it in advance of the findings of the Cass Review.

Classic example of the capture of the NHS by groups like the erroneously named Proud Trust and others, openly undermining safeguarding and the right women and children have to say no to compulsory undressing in front of the opposite sex.

I will make my default point that the NHS refuses to prescribe hormone treatments to: –middle-aged people (mostly women) who are hypothyroid by international but not the application of UK guidelines; there is scant prescription of T3 rather than T4 despite many adults having a preference in the matter; –people who would like access to clean steroids and injectables for physique purposes; –people who are chronically and profoundly vitamin D deficient (many CCGs give an initial course but no follow-up prescription or testings; I'm categorising vitamin D as a pro-hormone in this case); –people living with obesity who would like to try Semaglutide as part of their portfolio of weight reduction.

There are many people who do not receive treatments just because they want them - and many of these are people living with what they would report as severe decrements to their health related quality of life.

Ah yes I thought I recognised the name from somewhere. That God awful dice game.
Jesus.
Well this is no surprise then. I haven't watched it cos I'd have to click through and I dont want to give them my click if that makes sense.

This is being promoted by a group I am involved with as being a good resource for people with learning disabilities, which is very worrying.
