I think there are a few old threads that touch on this but I haven't seen anything new on here from the organisations who seem to be doing loads of groundwork on the Welsh Government LGBTQ+ Action Plan consultation that closes this Friday.
It isn't only relevant for everyone living in Wales, because there could be longer-term implications for the rest of the UK if some of the proposals go ahead - just like with the situation in Scotland. Welsh Government (Labour) and Plaid Cymru are committed to making self-ID law, including for people who identify as non-binary.
The Wales-wide GC women's group, Merched Cymru, and the LGB Alliance Cymru have been working together on webinars, rallies, videos, blogs and guidance and it's all up on the MC website if anyone wants to find out more merchedcymru.wales/can-the-action-plan/. Their twitter feeds are also sharing useful links and encouraging people to respond (e.g. this twitter.com/MerchedCymru/status/1450110783375949837) .
I thought it might be good to have a thread to discuss this if we're still struggling with what to say in the consultation. I'm also hoping that some of the legally qualified women on here will see this and take a look at it, particularly the Equality Impact Assessment that accompanies it (At least the dog didn't eat if this time!). I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes by doing this, but I assume the organisations leading on it have a lot on at the moment.
